Couple of years before my time, same with Mojo. My favourites when able to get in were Shades and Penthouse. Not a great deal to choose from in Sheffield at that time.
There was a bit of a feud between The Esquire and Mojo, the Esquire DJ used to slag off the Mojo and vice-versa, bit like Blades and Owls but not as intense. I only went to the Mojo once to see Wilson Pickett in 66, another all-nighter, but after queuing for ages the place was full and we didn't get in.

Blades 2 (Woodward, Reece) Burnley 1 (Bellamy)

I dont remember the match but I remember the day before as my sister was born and there were a lot of snow in this area, two days earlier my family had moved into a new house.

Mick Hill in the middle of the running trio as there is progress in the building of the Bramall Lane stand. Ernie Oliver, on the left, Barry Sheppard on the right of the trio. All three were youth players at the time.

FA Cup 4th round

Wolves 3 (McIlmoyle, Knowles 2) Blades 0

Goals can be seen from the below footage ( from 32 mins 30 secs). Peter Knowles was credited to be the scorer of the 3rd goal but we can see it was an own goal by Alan Hodgkinson.

Hugh McIlmoyle heads in the first goal.

I was at that game Silent. Played in red shorts, possibly for the first time? Quite revolutionary for a club like United.
Joe Shaw looked rather odd in them
We were totally overrun by Wolves that day.
I was 13, away match with mates, it was an adventure and part of the growing up procedure, kind of taught you how to fend for yourself in some ways.
The early days of 'soccer hooliganism ', not a light bulb left on the train, both there and back.
Even then I thought it was a weird and pointless thing to do...

Same here, I was 14 went with a load of school mates on one of the specials, 1,000s of Blades there, played shit and the train broke down on the way back. Bad day all round.

Think there was a photo in The Star of Blades arriving off the train Peter.
