I'm not having that last bit. It's a home game against a wank team, when we have nothing to play for. They should be thankful we even turned up. Shame they didn't bother to do the same.
Yet the West Brom fans watching their wank team never stopped singing and supporting them.

The atmosphere is consistently dreadful, fans are moaning about the players constantly. I don’t know if everyone’s ready for a bit of a fresh start & approach. Doesn’t necessarily have to be the the manager, could be the style of play or players were watching.

I get it we’ve finished mid table in a bang average league while above average teams like Hull, Millwall, Wrexham all have a good chance of going up, but the two best times I’ve seen our home fans was Warnock & Wilder days, even the hecky period we were shite

Isn't this the nature of away fans though? I would say our fans create way more atmosphere away than at the Lane - that's why I keep telling my friends that I prefer away games.
Incidentally I missed yesterday's match (one of the few this season) but I thought Hoever had a good game at QPR

With a three game week I am not against rotation and don't think he's terrible but his lack of attacking instinct was noticeable. Gilchrist was on the bench for them and it was a similar type of appearance.

The change was needed well before they scored

Absolutely it is, it’s a shame that we can’t replicate that togetherness & atmosphere at home

I honestly think we're still too close to the best season a club of our stature could have, on the back of 3 amazing seasons previous to that, with a squad of great players who seemed like genuinely good Dudes that everything that happens now is just 🤷

Wins the award for Worst Backpass Of The Season!
Turns out it wasn’t even the worst pass back of the weekend - have a look at Sunderland’s O’Nien in the first half at Port Vale. Pass back from about 40 yards (having already sprinted about 20 yards towards his own goal), which ends with keeper having to make a brilliant headed save to take the ball over the bar. Insane.

Not wilder fucking up another season with a raft of shite January loans is it?

You’d think he would have learned.

He was booked for his stupid reaction, not the shoulder charge. He’s basically thick.

I was amazed that the ref continued to let stuff go through the game. They often start laissez faire, then get the yellow cards out after 25 minutes by rote.

You are spot on, that he was booked for a very clear (and very stupid), act of dissent.

Am sure the Sunderland keeper can use his hand to flick the back pass over the bar? You can stop a back pass with your hand but not pick it up?

No. Cannot touch ball with hand, unless the defender plays the ball with head, chest or knee, or it is inadvertently kicked towards the keeper. Deliberate handball by the keeper in the penalty area is an indirect free kick, but no yellow card. I don’t think the ball deflected off the Sunderland player🤣 Perhaps it was inadvertent because his brain wasn’t working…
