Hammond.....again

The "leader" should always be a player who is sure of his place in the team. We can't afford to carry "passengers." Adkins was foolish making McEveley the captain too early. When he did eventually get his "captain fantastic" (Hammond) He should had the courage in his convictions and made him captain.

Apparently he left early when he came off at half time.

I think even if Adkins remains as manager then it sounds like Hammond might not be signing as some of us thought.

Was Hammond not there at the end then? Can anyone confirm?

Positive signs if he wasn't.

He had left the ground at half time apparently.

Bless him. I wonder if he was scared of doing the walk of shame at the end?

I think it's very clear that even Adkins is sick of him. He's been subbed every game recently.

I think it's now safe to say we won't be signing him.

REJOICE!

After accidentally passing his special t-shirt to an opponent, he was unfortunately sent off for clumsily going through the back of someone just outside of the tunnel and therefore couldn't take part in the rest of the lap.

If Adkins is staying then falling out with Hammond today could be a blessing in disguise.

Seems clear Adkins had pinned a lot on Hammond, and was prepared to back him strongly in public. At the time it probably looked like the right decision.

Today might have changed all that - and everyone will be reconsidering.

This is very bad for all sorts of reasons.

That 1st half from Hammond was terrible & im surprised in build up to Scunthorpe 1st goal Hammond 1st touch wasn't classed as an assist it was that poor

But I think the HT subtution says it all

In many ways I feel for Hammond. The positive reviews the Leicester fans gave him seem utterly implausible. His legs must have gone last season, and the rest followed this time around.

His career has come to an end in a very undignified way. Buggering off at half time just puts a cap on it.

Adkins would of played Hammond over Kante, if he was at Leicester this season

I seem to remember Stuart McCall's legs going at half time in one match never to return.
It happens, just need to recognise it when it does.
What I find implausible is Adkins not seeing it. If he still thinks he can do a job then he ought to try and sign him but it would bring his judgement (indeed his sanity) into question with a whole lot of people.

Imagine supporting a football club who negotiated a loan signing with it written in the deal that if the loanee club didn't play the signing, they would have to pay the parent club £xx,xxx for that benefit.

I know.
What football club, or business, would work on that basis?
Who would negotiate such a deal?

I guess it all depends on wages if playing against wages if not. It's a gamble and then some. It was all our expectations that he'd be the first name on each team sheet, before we saw him play.

Nosworthy?

On such a lovely sunny day, it was a shame he couldn't manage 90 minutes, who knows, a bit of Vitamin D might just have helped with his rickets :)

Who says its at end end? I reckon some team will take chance on him next season, probably in League One and no doubt the bugger will actually play well against us! Either way he's got to go down as one of the most hated players to ever play for us (during players time still with us). I can recall many who were unpopular after they left but not so many when they were with us as unpopular as him.Take a bow Dean! ;-). I do feel for him in some ways, he did appear to try, just past it.

Who says its at end end?

Me, just now. :)

I've never seen a player who's looked so aged. Watching him play over the course of this season was like seeing the bloke who drank from the wrong Grail in Indiana Jones.

I can't see him signing him now. The reception he got when he was subbed was one of the loudest points of the second half. Sarcastic cheers and boos aplenty.

Was he sarcastically clapping as he went off, or am I reading too much into it?

Never mind Adkins trying to sign him, I don't think he'll want to come. Why stay somewhere where you're hated?
The money?
