I belled him for two gram o' Mandy about a week ago and heard fuck all. We all know where it's gone, I suppose...

So what's the delay here? Initially it was suggested we were awaiting the B sample, we know there was a hearing where unlike last summer no club representatives spoke up on his behalf.

Are we just doing the approach we did with Evans where we say absolutely nothing and then quietly get rid when the retained list is announced?
 
He should not get paid for the time he's been unavailable but this dragging on of the process is typical.

I think you are about right. They will not want to make a big story. Surprised that FA has not come out and issued any statement though as surely all the tests/hearings have been done?

He ain't coming back whatever happpens.

Perhaps we still believe he has some sale value - is he out of contract this summer? Alternatively, could there be a way back for him next season if we're still in L1?

Doubt it - my guess is that the FA disciplinary panel hasn't passed judgment therefore we'd be in breach if we sacked him

Don't be too sure. We may yet see Baxter feeding a striker duo of Ched Evans and Billy Sharp next season :-)
 
I assume we are still waiting on a decision from the FA.

We need to know either way whats going on as the delay means we are still paying him when he should be released from his contract.

Not sure we can legally til the FA have made their final decision but that was according to The Stir the other week.

Although I am sure we can sack him since this is the second time Pablo has been caught.
 
Whatever anybody says about Baxter, our team has been woefully short of the things he is good at.

All well and good dissing the man who is after all a human being who has made mistakes and is probably extremely low at present, do that if it makes you feel good by all means.

Our team lacks creativity, assists and even a couple of players who have the ability to look around when they have the ball at their feet; players who like to venture into the final third of the pitch even.

Not much good to us if he is banned for a year is he? I had some sympathy for him the first time around but this time none at all especially when everyone stood by him.

His mistakes have cost us and has now meant we will have to go find someone to replace him.

Woody , what do we do with these waifs and strays we collect . We are a professional football club and business not a registered charity . I just feel the time for letting themselves and the club down , whoever the player is , is now past its sell by date . We pay hard earned money to watch these privileged guys even in league 1. It's payback time .

There are players out there who want to play football , who want to wear the shirt , who have some pride in what they do . The situation with Baxter is down to Baxter , nobody else. .. You can only lead a horse to water .

To me , new team and new ethos next season , or we might as well all call it a day . Creativity will be back or Adkins will be out of a job.

^^ This for me. This is a guy who a few years ago was being talked about as a future England player, and he's pissing it all away. Maybe in a few years he'll write a book, maybe it will be full of people to blame. The stark reality is that the only person to blame is the guy he will see in the mirror.
