Fair play to Adkins jcr wasn't allowed to play against us the other week (was suspended anyway) and neither was Michael Higdon when he was at Oldham on loan Wallace shouldn't be getting upset about it when other players have had the same treatment. Read further down where it said he was looking to impress Adkins so he could get offered a new contract I think it's time to move on James U wont get a future here

He was protecting him.

Can you imagine James Wallace getting hit by one of Hammond's yellow card challenges? The lad will smash into a thousand pieces.

All Adkins' horses and all Adkins' men are bored shitless of putting this fragile goon back together again.

If Basham fired a bogey out and hit him on the leg he would be out for 3 months with a stress fracture.
Seriously I wonder what he thinks of his 'best mate' Joses situation ?

I didn't think there was an option anymore for on loan players to play against their 'parent club', was sure it had been stopped by the FA/FL a few years ago

I thought so too, to prevent a situation where a player could, for example, score an own goal to give his parent side promotion or similar.

Its up to the manager of the parent club

A loan player can only play against his parent club, with that clubs permission. Here's the important bit. Permission must be written into the loan contract, prior to loan.

<< with his contract set to expire at the end of the season, faces an anxious wait to discover if it will be extended given Adkins’ preference for “robust players capable of playing 40 off games a season.” >>

Brilliant quote. Yes, he must be on tenterhooks wondering if he will be offered a new contract or not!?

Why the hell should he be sorry, it's absolutely basic standard practice.

Being the soft club we are maybe we were expected to let all our loanees play against us.

I actually agree with Samuels on this one, I'm not sure loaning to a club in the same league is a sensible idea.

When you are desperately trying to off load second rate players , beggars cannot be choosers . Majority are heading for league 2 or Conference anyway . Has we been in such a mess before . More and more this Adkins bloke may at the end of the day do us good . It's the fans and ultimately McCabe who have to hold there nerve and have some bottle.

Nowt to do with this mini run , we could quite easily go on another losing the next 3 games . Pressure make diamonds and usually in our case paste copy diamonds.

So do I. It should have been a rule from day 1 that you can't play against your parent club.

Happily they are starting to restrict the loan system next season. It probably won't happen, but I'd get rid of it in its entirety (save for emergency keeper loans).

Kabba was not a loan, it was a full transfer.

Samuels was angered because there was apparently the public disclosure of a 'gentleman's agreement' existing between Watford and us that they would not select him against us.

I was meaning across football in general. I can see why a club would want to loan a player out to play at the same level, I just don't think it's good for team to a.) Stockpile players b.) have undue influence over other teams in the same league.

Yeah - Samuels tried to equate this to W*** H** playing Tevez & Mascherano, conveniently forgetting that:
(i) Gentleman's agreements like this are not uncommon (Tim Howard was one I believe)
(ii) The club committing the offence (i.e. selection being influenced by a 3rd party) would have been Watford, not us
(iii) Kabba was out injured for that game anyway.

what would the odds be on Wallace happening to be match fit on the day they played us anyway? He hasn't managed 3 games in a row for several years.

Let Wallace prove himself to Adkins by having a stormer against Gillingham tomorrow!
wasn't even on the bench. Was out with a knee injury for 2 months, came back earlier this month supposedly fit. He's only 24 but unfortunately I can't see how he can have a future in football with his record.

Like Kennedy, a fully fit Wallace might have been the best player at the club in his position. Unfortunately, it's unlikely either player are going to be fully fit to the level they were at again. Harris has slipped into this category too – all three will be quite rightly let go, and these along with McFadzean and Howard are by far the easiest decisions of who to retain.

James Wallace, 40 games a season ? robust player ? Lucky if the guy could last 40 minutes without any number of injuries befalling him.

Which player has been the worst for injuries ?

James Wallace
John Ebbrell
Steve Finniestone

Please add names as you can.
