* Could have had 1953 I suppose but would have lost some comedic effect (although we won "League North" in 1945)

Maybe ours could represent all the years we've f*cked up - loads to choose from!

Maybe I got the wrong guy. I was trying to recall the Blades lags 11 thread from a few years ago. Didn't Curtis thump someone and did a stretch? Anyway someone can complete the list!
I saw that thread, we've had our fair share of scumbags to be honest.
Always like Curtis though, bit of a hero growing up, he's hunted down twitter trolls, still follows the Blades, and became a very decent boxer.
He wanted an English title so bad because he promised his late father he'd win one. When he lost first time around I tweeted him saying his old man would still have been proud(a fella I'd if never met in my life). He thanked me but went on to explain that his dad wouldn't have been proud and would have told him to get his arse back into gear and keep going until he won it! I'm paraphrasing but he came across very funny and likeable.

He definitely got convicted of something to do with hitting people but I'm not sure he went down for it.

S = 1971. Promotion, unbeaten for 22 games, top of the league

1901 won british championship beat celtic over 2 legs
only team to ever officially be british champions

also first team to get over 100000 to watch a game v spurs

should really promote this more

The two games against Celtic were played at Bramall Lane on 12th March - 1-0 win and at Parkhead on 16th April 1898 - 1-1 draw, which were dubbed "The Championship of Britain" even though United only secured the Championship when they beat Bolton 1-0 on the 8th April 1898.

Obviously the game v Spurs you refer to was the 1901 FA Cup Final which has various reported attendances ranging from 100,000 to over 120,000. Because of the huge crowd at the first game, the replay at Bolton only attracted just over 20,000 leading it to be called "Pie Saturday" as there was so many pies left over at Bolton as they were expecting another big crowd.
