I do not understand why anybody would think for a second that we have any chance of signing Baptiste on a full transfer. He only signed for Boro at the start of the season, for an estimated two million pound fee. After an horrific injury, he has been allowed to get some games in the lower leagues, to get match fit again, its as simple as that. Any fee Boro would want would be way out of our league and likewise the wages he will getting paid at Boro, mean he would not even consider moving to us for what we can pay. Would you move from a side likely to be n the Premiership next seaso,n to a struggling League One team, for less wages. I do not understand why Adkins signed him when he did, as in my opinion promotion was gone by then. Its a waste of money, even though he looks a good player.
Now promotion has gone Adkins should not play the loan players and instead play our own youngsters. McGahey has done nothing wrong since he came back into the team, but was immediately dropped when Edgar returned from his trip to sit in the stands watching Canada play. He must be very frustrated and must wonder when he will ever get a proper chance in the team.
Kennedy should play instead of Baptise, however this wont happen as Adkins clearly allows his personal feelings on Kennedy, to interfere with his managerial judgement. Kennedy has never had a chance under Adkins. The same applies to Freeman who has also fallen out with Adkins (reminds me of Clough with Butler and Collins)
Take out Hammond and dont even have Sammon on the bench and play our own players, however Adkins loves Hammond so much he's automatically the first name on the team sheet, however badly he plays. The team will be built around Hammond for at least one season and possibley more. What a prospect that is
