Congrats to the Blade for getting Northampton promoted. From being on the verge of non-league football just two seasons back, to getting promoted with 5 games to spare - that's some achievement.

But, as regards all the speculation connecting him with us, what we need now is a big end to the season IMO. Building soundly on that performance today - which, to be fair, was the culmination of several semi-decent performances over recent weeks - to dampen thoughts amongst sceptics (including those on the board) about the wisdom of managerial change.

One or two tricky games coming up. Can we perform away from home at Chessy? Can we perform in a "derby" (sort of) against resurgent Barnsley, & at least help deny them the satisfaction of a play-off place? Hopefully today's performance now sets the standard.

Anyway, nice to be able to congratulate Chris Wilder from a position of being very satisfied with a cracking performance at the Lane, rather than from amidst doom & gloom, & argument & speculation.

Yes , it will be nice to see Chris Wilder next season at the lane , managing Northampton . As football goes , Northampton will struggle in league 1 , Wilder will get the sack and be out of work . You can go from hero to zero in a very short period of time managing a football club .

We need Adkins to become a hero .

Football is fickle . Wilder needs to bask in the glory whilst he can , and with him being no fool , his feet will be firmly on the ground. Good luck and well done to the fella , blade or no blade .

The play offs are totally out of sight. I've said before, I dont care if we finish seventh or fifth from bottom, as long as we dont go down. It makes no difference when next season starts.The lower the finish, the better chance of Adkins leaving. Lose games until the end of the season and we might end up with a manager who's on the up, like Wilder, not someone living on past glories, relying constantly on his CV to keep his job. Adkins doesn't know what he's doing, but for some people thats ok, because he previously won promotions with other teams. Wilder, title winning manager this season, Adkins total disaster.

I think Championship downwards you get 18 and can request more.

Yes he will.
And had he been given the opportunity with us, as part of the pathway for the youth I believe he would have stood a chance of another.

On the other hand he might make Northampton a decent League 1 club
Rochdale aren't doing too badly since they got promoted and I would say Northampton are a bigger club than them. He could then move to a Championship club and set himself up with a very nice career.

Coming here would wreck his entire career before it's even got going
