This lad Diego?

Or, if they can't sort out their own attitudes out can they really be classed as starlets?
I'm actually in two minds who to blame.

I agree, if they want to succeed they shouldn't have attitudes. But surely the coaching staff/manager should, keep their feet on the ground, kick them up the arse, make sure they work hard in training and reward their efforts with first team experience.
If a nineteen year old is allowed to dictate what he will and won't do, they might as well bin their coaching badges and get off to the job centre :(

Slowly coming to the conclusion it's the job centre or the lane for our manager and back room staff . Wish the Adkins bloke could start installing some confidence and hope for us .

Green shoots , light at the end of the tunnel don't even come into the equation.

guessing hes not in the team tomorrow.....

Ah! Got it! He's back at York isn't he..........o_O

Let's let Graham Poll explain.......

If they want it quick, then they have given up the right to re-take it, no matter if it hits a defender who's three yards away.

Except for the numerous times when this happens and the free kick is ordered to be retaken due to encroachment by the defending team.

It’s not that simple. Especially in these days of over inflated player power. Even the great Neil Warnock couldn’t tame Ashley Sestanovich, Curtis Woodhouse, Danny Cullip etc. and ended up having to cut them loose. I think he also got fed up of Steve Kabba being a bit of a dick and that probably contributed to his exit.

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink.

Or it could be something completely unrelated.
It won't be. If he's tweeting something vague like that on his Twitter which goes out to the world rather than his FB which only goes out to friends and family then it's likely going to be about football.
Posting passive aggressive tweets aimed at management to fans isn't going to get him into the first team. I can understand his frustration if he's been playing well but if he keeps trying then he should get his chance at some point.

That's not passive aggressive, it's just aggressive, if he is referring to not getting in the team. If I were his manager and he'd referred to me as a shambles, he'd be getting fined. Any more shit tweets and he'd be listed.

Yeah you're right actually. I'm guessing he's on his last chance already which is probably why Adkins is reluctant to put him in the team. He's alluded to his bad attitude in other interviews.

when has Adkins alluded to Diego's bad attitude? Honest question.

If he was a good as he thinks he is he's be in the team by now, the couple of cameos he's had haven't been that impressive

The nature of such tweets appears destructive...I dunno if there's some communication/access issue between Adkns/Diego but surely a simple knock on the door and a face to face chat is what's needed?

Maybe that's not happening or maybe it's just a bit of huff after the disappointment of not being the squad...keep banging the goals in, working hard in training and knocking on that door...and it will happen.

He has got a bit of a point though... at least I think so from a footballing perspective. I've watched all of his recent goals for the U21s and he takes them really well. Of course, I don't know the ins and outs of his attitude but a bit of cockiness up front wouldn't do us any harm. I'd like to see him given a chance from the bench.

Last 6 games our U21s have played:

Diego De Girolamo
Games played: 4 (1)
Goals: 5
Assists: 1

Millwall U21s 1-2 Blades U21s
"A brace from Diego De Girolamo helped United's U21s make it 17 matches unbeaten"

Blades U21s 2-0 Bolton U21s
Diego de Girolamo didn't play this one - not sure why.

Birmingham U21s 0-0 Blades U21s
"But despite the goalless draw, Coach Travis Binnion was still full of praise for his young side"...He remarked: "Diego (De Girolamo) was lively""

Blades U21s 2-0 Crewe U21s
"Diego De Girolamo scored in the first-half, before Jake Wright's penalty in the second period..."

Coventry U21s 1-2 Blades U21s
"Diego De Girolamo netted a first-half brace to pave the way for a deserved success over Coventry City at the Alan Higgs Centre on Monday afternoon."

Blades U21s 1-0 Barnsley U21s
"BROOKS netted what proved to be the winning goal in the 82nd minute keeping his composure after substitute De Girolamo had caught the Barnsley defence napping and laid the opening on a plate for the young midfielder to slot home past Townsend."

Kennedy replied to this, presume he's not in the squad either. I think he must presume 2 or 3 decent games in the reserves gets him in the squad.
That should be enough to get in our squad! :)

Well yeah, although up front we have sharp, done, adams, DCL and even sammon above him in the pecking order. I'd have him in the squad over sammon but even then he's still 5th choice

Where as Hammond and coutts haven't even had a decent game, nevermind Sammon. What was it Adkins said about pathways from the reserves?

On footballing ability he is infront of Sammon and DCL for me but we all know that it's not just about footballing ability these days.

Christ on a bike. I wish these wankers would all just fuck off from my club.
(I know Dimaio's gone, but you get my drift!)

They sound like brats that haven't got their own way, after years of being told how brilliant they are and that they can do no wrong.

I was led to believe professional footballers attended courses on dealing with the social media etc. Obviously, some of our prospects didn't turn up.

Having said that, I do think he should be given a run. What's the worse that can happen?

If that is a tweet to undermine Adkins he's either stupid or trying to get a move as his mate Dimaio is at Chesterfield and reading Dimaio s reply
could they be trying to contrive a transfer if so ! I would think there is trouble looming.

If Sammon can be given numerous opportunities then why shouldn't DeGirolamo be given another one? His one and only performance v Preston was encouraging but since then he's been unlucky with injuries. For some reason there seems to be an injustice going on here, or is it just Adkins getting it wrong yet again. Not saying DeGirolamo is the answer but he has certainly has shown the ability to be given a chance.

If he was as good as he appears to think he is (or his advisers tell him he is) then he'd be in the Italy Squad for the Euros.
