I don't know if Diego is Billy big Bollocks..

....what I do know is Sammon it utter shit and starting with him is like starting with ten men.

I don’t agree about Sammon but we’re all entitled to our opinions. Adkins praised Sammon’s commitment in training after the Oldham game. Perhaps he is a Hammond like role model and that’s why he was favoured by the manager. It may be a message to the youngsters that hard work will be rewarded over talent if the talent doesn’t work hard.

Couple of things with this one for me is,

a, if he produces on the pitch I couldnt really care if he does nothing on the training field... after all we dont get three points for training...

b, replacing him with Sammon (who has done zero on the pitch in months makes no sense... , ala with Hammond) surely that send out the message "you can do nothing and get in the side..."

no wonder Adams is confused...

Except they don’t do nothing. They do what the manager asks of them and work hard for the team. They just don’t have that match-winner ability that people like Adams occasionally demonstrate.

Regardless of whether Adams should have been dropped; I don't see any benefit in Nigel Adkins publicly stating why he was dropped. I would have thought that should have been kept private - especially if we ever decide to sell him - as it could put clubs off making a bid.

No I don’t think so. Adkins is uber-positive, protective of his players and talks them up whenever he can. He's given Baxter and Adams further chances after being naughty.
when was Adams naughty? has he glassed someone in Ireland as well??..
let's just pick eleven model pros with no talent then.. see where that gets us.. it is his job to manage wayward young talented pro's he's not doing us some favour. putting the old boys club in every week must be 'really' inspiring. it's just like 80-81 this.

I totally agree with your statement of keeping it private. I think this totally demonstrates that Adkins is not a capable manager, either that or he had not read that far in the managers manual.
Adams is 19 and just needs a bit of tlc.
Given this was a normal everyday business I think Adams would have a strong case for constructive dismissal.

I'm thinking this one is another fucker like The Italian wannabe that thinks he's the next coming of Pele!

Then again he could be after all he scored a penalty against Fleetwood the brave bastard !

I took that as Adkins saying why he's picking Sammon and not Adams. Implying that if Che decided to bother he would play.

When he allegedly went on the piss with McGahey the night before training and turned up late/pissed.

Putting 11 model pros out with no talent is far from ideal but it might be the only way to get the talent to wake up and realize that they must become a model pro to be selected. I for one would rather see a Dean Hammond in our team than a Jose Baxter despite all of his limitations.

Constructive dismissal? Are you serious? Being dropped to the bench because he didn’t train well is constructive dismissal now? My god some want our little darlings to be pampered even more than they already are. Personally, I would be happy for Adkins to come out and slate anyone who’s not willing to give their all. He’s been far too kind to this squad full of shit bags all season (because he didn’t have much choice given the lack of backing and being stuck with them). Now the season’s fizzling out and some are on their way, he can let them have it with both barrels.

I wouldn’t be against him doing a Phil Brown style bollocking at half time whilst they sit on the pitch. He could even give the crowd rotting fruit to throw at the wankers.

Yeah same here. I think Adkins knows Adams is more talented but if the less talented Sammon is working hard in training and Adams is not, Sammon gets the nod. If they both work hard, the more talented Adams gets the nod. It’s not dissimilar to how Clough handled Baxter and Murphy when he came in with both being out of the team at first but forcing their way back. Let’s hope Adams has the gumption and wherewithal to come back and prove his worth.

If you recall, he also stuck Coady out wide for a brief period. I'm guessing he didn't complain and just got on with it. So then Clough liked him because he acted like a professional and not like a spoilt child.

Exactly my point in earlier post, Adams is confused and frustrated at the way a so called manager manages. At his stage of his career he hasn't hardened up emotionally and does takes it personally, nothing wrong with that but needs to re channel it into determination " I'll show him " attitude. There is more determination in our younger player s than the majority of the" mature " squad. I will guarantee you that if he plays Che up front with Calvert Lewin and Reed c.m then you will see a massive positive change. The only negative is that Brayford doesn't want to pass to any of them. You watch!
Why doesn't Brayford pass to any of them?

If he doesn't have the right attitude, I'd "constructively dismiss" him to playing on a dog shit strewn park on a Sunday morning. Sometimes I wonder if it's because quite often, they earn more than the manager. Surely that would create a situation where the tail wags the dog?

Footballers have too much power with too little intelligence to use it properly. My philosophy would be very simple, you have the best job in the world, toe the line or fuck off.
