Who wants us to stay in Division 3 - and why? McCabe? The Prince? Jim? Adkins?

I for one, am certainly not suggesting that McCabe / Princey / Adkins WANT to stay in this Division ..... clearly they would be deluded to want this.

However, the Board / management have missed several great opportunities over the last few years to get out of this agricultural division and its not the fault of the fans.

They are rightly judged upon our failure to succeed, failure to compete effectively at this level and our abject failure in the transfer market over the last few years.

Always happy at paying less. Going to take advantage of the free direct debit this year because I don't see why the money should be sitting in their account instead of ours.... my form of petty protest.

Don't know what the fan forums are going to achieve. If the individuals from the club attending don't already know what our frustrations are, then they aren't football fans.

This is so correct ...... have 10 likes !! :-)

On a personal note ...... I'm not unhappy with the cost of the season ticket generally ( although being a Yorkshireman I'm always happy to pay less for 'owt ) but I would have liked to see some cast iron commitment from the Board & manager, before I have to commit to buy my season ticket, to culling the vast majority of this ineffective first team squad (and hangers on) and rebuild with quality in THIS summer ...... to mount a serious and genuine attempt at automatic promotion next season.

And I'm not suggesting that we should be spending millions ...... its not necessary at this level and we can make good effective use of six season long loans to help the process ....

Is there a list of these players that are desirable to Championship clubs? Can I see it?

I can only think of one player at SUFC who would be of any interest to Clubs in the Championship and many of them won't even interest other L1 or L2 Clubs. :(

I made my mind up about renewing on 1/2/16 when the board decided not to give Adkins any money and sentenced us to another year in this league

He'll be given money for a Hammonds wage when he signs permanently. What more do you want?

I made my mind up after the JTW, I won't renew until I see a massive overhaul of the squad. Paying 10% less to watch the same dross isn't a good deal, however it's painted. I know that not everyone can afford to take the same stance but until we see the back of some of the wage thieves and an influx of new blood I won't be putting any more of my money into the club. I think I've enjoyed 2 home games all season, the rest has been pitiful. It hurts to do this after being a ST holder for 42 of the last 45 years but it's the only way I can think of as an effective protest at the mismanagement of the club.

What then?

Selling your best players season after season shows too much ambition?

Selling your best players season after season shows just the right amount of ambition?

Yes. McCabe is right. It is perfectly acceptable to do whatever he says.

Yes it is.

Always.

Don't you think you are cutting your nose off to spite your face after being loyal for so long it will turn sooner or later and the feeling of satisfaction ( sticking it out) will be that much greater. That is a lot of years to throw away.

The fans forum sounds a great idea.

McCabe: Let's talk to some of the unwashed, see what ideas they have. Then get them out of here, bring out the febreze and do what we were going to do in the first place.

I'm not sure that the 10% discount will make many people change their mind on whether they'll renew or not but it's a good gesture for the loyal fans who'll renew no matter what.

I'll be paying £228 to renew, that's a big difference from the £380 I forked out this season.

That works out at £9.91 per match, which is great value in fairness.

Furthermore, the under 18's price on the Kop is £58.50. I paid £99 for mine 17 years ago.

Whatever else the club is getting wrong at the moment, their pricing for next season is pretty remarkable. A very fair reward for what we've had to endure.

£288 isn't it.

Under 18s renewing for £36 or £45 is excellent value as well.

It's a good deal tbh,the thought of building the team around Hammond however, is not
I'm on Hammond watch tomorrow to see if i can see what is unseen(hope that makes sense)

The club will lose revenue from two fronts. The 10% reduction and the fall off in attendances from the apathy created.

However, the few hundred grand in estimated lost revenue will have no bearing on our season depending on how committed the two owners are

I wonder what incentive they will have to come up with this time next year when we've failed to challenge for promoton?

Pay the fans to attend games ?

It does feel that way to me PPC, it's like saying we know we've fecked up but we're only 10% sorry.

Us being in this piss poor league for 5 years with the support and recources must rank as one of the biggest failures of any football club in the history of football clubs Grrrrrrr this "offer" has made me angry, salt in the feckin wounds
Oh for goodness sake. It's still a business. A 10% discount, in real terms, is a great deal. Some people are never satisfied. So don't buy a frigging ST and you have saved yourself 90% from last year.

No point in Lydon writing anymore, i'll only be using different words to convey the same message as quoted.

Do they have to be?

Pommpey thinks this more about club financing future inward transfer ambitions to restructure .....

Well ISC is well knobbed off by people who should know better, writing in the third person.

Is this still the "10% season ticket reduction" thread or the "up our own arses " thread?

Save all that money.

And...

You don't have to watch wagestealing workshy scroungers who are the worst team in our history playing deadly dull football in a crap division for a deluded manager who talks exclusively in cliches employed by a board with no ambition.

Bingo!

Have I missed anything?

A No Brainer ;-)

And I think your opinions are shite but don't want to hurt you're sensitive nature!

But what does Nigel think...

possibly controversial comment: no the fucking team comes first knobhead!

i can't see this doing us any good. they should have put prices up five percent and bought a fucking centre half. they are just sucking up to the fans. As someone mentioned earlier it is pretty much an acknowledgement that this season has been a total shambles.

edit: and as if by magic.. season ticket prices reduced.. renew now!! :D
