They stumbled to 5th place and they got turned over at home by shite like Fleetwood and Crewe along the way.

It wouldn't have taken the last bloke much to build on his positive first season in charge, but he signed a multitude of crap and the club ended up spunking its money on their wages.

This club has failed Adkins miserably.

Turned over by the likes of Fleetwood and Crewe as opposed to Shrewsbury, Crewe, Bury (twice), Colchester and Rochdale. 7 home league defeats already this season with 3 more promotion/play off teams still to visit the lane. Adkins tactics, substitutions and alround management this season has been shocking. We are heading for our 2nd worse season in our entire history. I am not saying sack him but he has sucked out every last drop of enthusiasm from the supporters that we began with back in August. Do we stick or twist? We can't keep sacking managers but that's no reason to keep him if he's not up to the job. The jury's out for me. Between the lot of them they are slowly killing the club and the belief of the fans that we CAN turn things around. It's wrong to critisize the fans. Patience is very thin on the ground as we are about to enter our 6th season in this league with promotion looking further away than ever. Frustrations are growing and who can blame them

This so wrong. What we are getting (if we haven't already) is a reputation for being a soft touch. Word will have soon spread that if you get the managers job with us then you're given a 3 year deal. Cock it up and after 12 months you'll get the sack with a full pay out.

Maybe cynical but do you really believe Adkins is making decisions such as his three centre half experiment and his continuation of telling us Hammond does so much unseen work that he really cares about us.

I've never wanted a manager to be sacked and deep down hope this guy proves me wrong but I've just a gut feeling that he's not as open and transparent as I would wish.

Since we've been down here Charlton rebuilt a whole team, Huddersfield had been spending for a couple of seasons prior, can't remember what the pigs did apart from getting Marshall and Antonio on loan near the end, Wolves rebuilt a team, we've talked about City.
Brentford spent quite a bit but I can't remember who on, likewise Bournemouth.
I think quite a few teams have paid reasonable transfer fees on signing players they needed. We dont do enough.
