Just put this on another thread but think it warrants its own thread and serious discussion, and hopefully bring it to the boards attention.

Wilder as manager and Warnock as director of football for next season please.

That's the only and best option I see for dragging us out of this nightmare.

I rate young CW but believe that his current team will be overtaking us next season, so why would he want to come here, appointed by a board that has no ambition and rarely backs a manager ?.

As fans we are understandably looking for the obvious replacements.

As a club we are supposed to have worldwide connections and should be using these to source a hungry, young coach that will take us to a level we can only dream about.

Look at Pochettino, the guy at Wednesday and even Arsene Wenger. Who had ever heard of these before they were appointed?

The footballing world thought Southampton were mad to get rid of Adkins and appoint Pochettino. And now look what he's done at Tottenham. How we laughed when Wednesday appointed their current coach (don't know how to spell his name). But look where they are.

These are clubs who worked bloody hard to find the right man. Our board are lazy and incompetent in comparison. Initially we shouldn't be asking our owners to be investing money it's we should be asking them to be investing time and effort in their next appointment.

Wilder isn't the answer. Warnock isn't the answer. Not without significant changes at the top of this club will any manager make a difference. This club is rotten top to bottom right now and it shows in every performance and every move the club makes.

You have to be a yes man to get the job at BDTBL and neither Wilder nor Warnock are that. Clough was binned off probably for arguing with McCabe and wanting to be his own man and I would suggest a couple of other managers shown the door when they have stood their ground.

Borbokis... Serious question how long would you give them before calling for a new manager? If they don't get us up next year would you want someone else, 2 years? 3? as long as it takes?

A huge percentage of blades wanted Adkins, we have to back ourselves and him at least for another year IMO.

It's had its own threads before and it was a shit idea then as well.

Any manager must have the time and backing to rebuild.

Agree with the priniciple, but taking average time in office for all managers in the FL, it's clear we're hardly atypical.

Despite last season starting mid December and ending start of February in terms of excitement, I wouldnt have sacked NC (difficult second season syndrome) and still think he must have talked himself out of it. The cracks in how that team was built have turned into vast chasms under NA and ordinarily I'd agree he has the right to build his own team before we can judge because the compound failure of the last five years and constant chopping and changing have really come home to roost.

But, you need to see something of potential, something that indicated he is both strong enough and talented enough to undertake a job at least three times as difficult as he thought it was. And he wont have any money. This is where I'm starting to waiver a bit. I'm not bothered by the results and failure, I'd actually be more worried if we went on a run and ended up 7th missing out on the playoffs by a point because the temptation to gloss over everything and pretend all will be well in 16/17 will be seized upon. I'm more bothered by the fact that as things unravel further, he seems less able to shape events and shows even less determination to do so. NW used to tell us to piss of to Meadowhall, NA mutters obliquley about unseen work and lack of understanding in amongst other Gordon Brittas like flannel.

He should get next season, but he has to show some Leadership for me, otherwise if we're starting from scratch (again- new start, brave new world SUFC 2016 etc etc) why should he get the gig merely because he happens to be in place now ?

Warnock as manager - absolutely. Whether people like it or not, he'd be the most likely to drag us out of this bland, depressing slumber and out of this division. IMO.

Warnock as DoF - why? It's a completely different role and not one he's suited for. I don't know why people have continuously touted him for this role.

It shouldn't matter what is and isn't typical. Each and every manager should get the time he needs to build. Success gained elsewhere is not a guarantee of success with United, in fact its possibly more of a hindrance to Adkins. I almost think Warnock would be expected to deliver immediately too.

For me, Adkins is beginning to show some bollocks, I guess we won't see the consistency in results immediately

It's neither the only or the best option.

If we are to have a new manager we need to get one now. The squad is being cleared out and our experienced professonal footballers aren't up to the job as evidenced yesterday. If we leave it until the end of the season we will have lost vital time in a manager search.

Personally I would give him a chance to build his own squad basically because we haven't allowed any manager to do that since Robson. It took Warnock a few seasons to get us up and it might be the same for Adkins. However if change is to happen let's just get it done straight away

Well he'd got some balls picking Sammon.

The majority of the time I want managers to be given at least two full seasons provided there are signs of progress. I definitely didn't want Clough sacked and thought the Blackwell and Wilson sackings were very harsh.

I almost never call for the managers head. I argued and debated with many on here last year who wanted Clough out.

But this season is the worst ever, I just don't see any chance of success under the current regime. I'm amazed our support are being so supportive of the manager, I wonder if he realizes how lucky he is.
