Don't blame you mate,I'm sure mcCabes trigger finger is getting very twitchy,Adkins has brought nothing to the table tbh, almost a full season and the previous manager still getting the blame, very poor, and it hurts

Redfern wasn't performing at Rotherham Warnock has sorted it, no I don't want Neil back but the buck has to stop with the manager, this one is a dud.

I don't think he is the man for the job. I would rather have Warnock. Please let me put my tin hat on before you throw nasty insults at me. I could justify it but I just think the decisions made at crucial points in his tenure beggar belief. Yes he has the CV but I could understand Clough's reasoning for team selection better than Adkins. At least he knew he had to counter attack to have any chance. FFS Sammon? Need a goal. When did he score last?

Who won at Ipswich today, you never need a hard hat when you mention Colin.

Not got a season ticket but will probably go to all the home games 'til the end of the season and possibly Chessie away (it is double points for grumble stripes at the Lane at the minute after all ;) )

Heard rumours of both Wilder and Warnock as replacements for Adkins in recent weeks. Not a Warnock fan but either option would at least get the players playing with a bit of fire in their bellies.

Rumours or wishful thinking?

..erm, that's from the horses mouth..not 'the media'
You reckon McCabe is lying here?

Don't think McCabe lies , just economical with the truth . It's like the dreaded football chairmans vote of confidence in the manager and then sacks him the next day.

I think we are all getting tired of the team and managers performances this season which started on the first day at Gillingham and has not improved or even given us at least a glimmer of hope. .We still turn up in thousands both home and away , but feel flat and couldn't care a fuck attitude is creeping in big style. Gone past the point of even feeling let down .

Should Adkins stop or get the sack . Getting to the point of past caring , and losing confidence in all things positive Adkins. Never ever felt like this even going back to Harry. Haslam , Bryan Robson days .

If Adkins does stay , and doesn't hit the ground running next season , the situation and atmosphere will be even worst . There are no guarantees in life , but should we cut our losses now and start with a clean sheet with a new manager.

Also the board is here to stay as they will not sack themselves and we haven't got potential buyers queuing up at the door to replace them.

They could sack Adkins. Of course.
I just don't believe McCabe wanted to sack him 'months ago'...if the board are split I reckon Princey/Phipps are the ones who wanted Adkins out...hence their mob taking a back seat whilst Adkns remains.

McCabe wanted Adkins in years ago, he's his choice and what with all the 'blame Clough' malarkey and lack of funds to buy players I reckon they had a very good idea of Adkins job this season...

I think Adkins will get his chance this summer to mould his team from the players who remain, the youth and hopefully a few key signings.

Hope you are right but my own feeling and it's not knee jerk reaction , I would sack him .

It just cannot be all down to Clough and the players . Also with what Warnock is doing at Rotherham , this is not helping matters , as the thought is where would we be if Warnock was with us .

We cannot fully rely on our kids , even with the likes of Hammond being in the team if signed . They would get us relegated more than promoted.

McCabe wanted Adkins years ago , and if he came to BDTBL years ago , pound to a penny he would have been a roaring success . That was then and this is now , and Adkins seems to be a spent force and past his sell by date . Time and tide waits for no man especially in football . Are we not seeing the best of Adkins because he is past his best.

Can he motivate , sort tactics , substitutions , buy the right sort of players within a budget . If he is staying - hope so but now doubt it.

Not impressed .

It's a simple situation going forwards; whoever McCabe wants DONT SIGN HIM

No one could argue much if Adkins were sacked...the main issue he'll have going forwards is the toxicity he's creating around himself...and perhaps, as you say, he may be past his best...for all our sakes I hope not because I've a strong feeling he'll be here until at least Xmas this year...unless we really sink early next season.

Once the clear-outs complete a properly funded and motivated 'half decent manager' should be able to get SUFC firmly entrenched in the top four next season and pushing at the top two.

I still think he'll do it given the chance...

Danny wilson had barnsley "like watching brazil"& arguably the best team post war, robson kept WBA up despite being btm at xmas, adkins has a decent CV with scunny & saints even micky adams had a good name at Port Vale............the poison chalice career wrecker that is the 1st team manager of sheffield united needs a massively strong character to keep all things utd in line.
Guts, determination, endeavour is passed down,pre/post match interviews are spoke that people listen .........the whole package must be wrapped in balls with a steely spine.
History shows this.
Bassett, warnock, even stevie bruce.
This is what works, this is what we love.........fancy dans doesn't work at BDTBL
Anybody out there?

Will renew, but going to take some timeout and not go till next season
Agree, only 'homes' from here in and after today, that's pushing it.

What the f**k was Sammon doing on the pitch - a demonstration of our strength in depth? One decent run he had, one run and yet, (having just listened to Adkins post match summary) you'd think he had a good one - FFS

The team is average (at very best) and Adkins has no answers. Does he give me any confidence, no. Do I trust him to clear the decks properly in the summer, no. Do I trust him to bring in the players we need, not a chance.

The only thing saving him right now are the 'fuck ups' we've (Mr McC) made in the past with managers. Does this make his appointment the right one, absolutely not.

FFS

He should go into politics, then he could blame the previous incumbent for 13/18 years, depending on which side he's playing for
