Didn't hear it first hand, but the Barnsley fans weren't best pleased about a call from "Brian the blade" in which he stated we should put in a bid and that he'd jump at the choice to join a "bigger and better" club.

I wouldn't be surprised if we've watched him at some stage recently, we have in the past, but he's not exactly Mr Consistant.

The big rumour last week was that he was off to Reading for £1mil.

Mind you Reading have just signed Jay Tabb from Coventry.

Not sure they are still on the look out for more midfielders unless Hunt is on his way.

It'd cost a bloody fortune to have his name on the back of your shirt. We should have signed Jo, if only to keep the tightwads happy.:D

It's a good job you don't know what you're on about, otherwise i'd be having to enter a discussion with you and its far too late for that tonight ;)
He's one player we have who at least tries to entertain. He always faces goal, always wants the ball, never hides.

Perhaps it's time to move on, but I'll have some good memories of him. :)

His one exceptional performance was away at QPR in the FA cup last season. Tore their full back to pieces.

However, as me and my mate joked after the game, he's had his good game, we won't see him for another 4. We didn't.

If he was direct, he'd be a hell of a player, but he runs at players, beats them, then goes back or puts in an awful cross. He's got an awful record with crosses.

JCR Summary: Talented, Wasteful. Frustrating and a bad character to have around.

Best of luck to him, but i'll be so glad to see him gone.

If he could cross a ball he'd be in the premiership. Very similar player to Aaron Lennon. No end product though.

I'll be genuinely disappointed when JCR leaves.

Just about every departure makes me smile at the moment, but this one won't.

If he could be good consistently, he wouldn't be in his mid 30s having played for every single club in the bottom two divisions.

"Open the gates..."

Great crowd pleaser with no end product.

His greatest strength was to always take the wrong decision. Cross when he should cut in, shoot when he should cross and take on the tenth man when a quick release is required.

Great/infuriating to watch in equal measures but best of luck to the guy.

No mention of the elephant in the room. Cloughie's only er.......ahem.......er..........

I may cry! I am so happy, nothing against the lad but he flatters to deceive and has no assists. Some may think assists are not important but this is another average lower league player who topped out at Barnsley that we need to improve from

I'd be sad to see him go too. He has great attacking intent and works really hard defensively too. Without doubt he lacks consistency and end product most of the time, but I've always thought he's a handy asset we don't utilise often enough, particularly this season where we continue to look embarrassingly pedestrian. A good professional who does a job when required and has given us a few purple patches of 3 or 4 consecutive games where he's looked unplayable (only for form to dip again). He'd go with good wishes, unlike most.

Aye, his last accurate cross was in 2006. :)

Seriously though. I've always wanted us to sign players like that. When he was a young player terrorising teams with his pace (for Rotherham I think) I wanted us to sign him. Same with Albert Adomah before he went to Boro. I always like having a pacey, direct winger in the squad.

No doubt we're insisting on paying 100% of his wages because our Morgs is there.

Maybe we can give them McNulty for nothing at the end of the season too.

If letting JCR go means we can sign another one on loan then I'm OK with it, if not then what's the point? It might be ridiculous but he's still our best option to come on and change a game and carry the ball up the pitch.

You and your mate were wrong. He scored the winning goal the following week and played very well.

But let's not let facts get in the way of bullshit.

We're playing with wing backs at the moment, so yes he's unlikely to get a start any time soon. However, situations in games change, might warrant a switch to 4-4-2, and he's a player that is arguably our most natural and threatening winger. 3-5-2 is attractive at the moment because it seems to suit the current XI. But it takes just one or two injuries/suspensions to change that. I'd have kept him as an option off the bench till the summer.

I was on a flight to Japan two days later, i didn't see him play for 4 weeks.
