Team for Millwall

I’d make one change from Saturday and that would be Basham in for Whiteman. The lad did OK but Millwall will be strong, fit and physical and their ground is hostile. I think we need Basham’s combativeness and energy in the midfield and that Whiteman might struggle with both the atmosphere and the opposition.

See what you're saying about Basham, but really hope Adkins doesn't go down that route. We were so much better in midfield last week without Basham there treating the ball like a hot potato. Would much rather Whiteman be chucked in again after such a promising showing, all as part of the necessary toughening-up process.

Same 11 as last Saturday for me.

"Horses for courses" or "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". One to always divide opinion.

Sitwells reeling you in Swiss

Yeah i tried to cover myself a little in case it was an elaborate wind up that i'd not seen

Yep ,might be a shot stopper but he doesn't talk to his defence ,that and Collins are why we play so deep. I just don't think hes got it ,I think Howard has been hard done to but I would be looking for a new keeper in the summer.

Can't agree with you there, i think since coming back in he's been much improved in terms of presence/ stature as well as building himself up physically, he's better on crosses and commanding his area. I wouldn't be looking for a new no 1 this summer, i think Long has done more than enough.

I would, however, be taking a decision on his back up. Howard was very poor earlier this season and he he wasn't fantastic last season, though when in form he's been a decent keeper, its the things that Long now does well which has let Howard down. Plus his confidence was awful. Long is far from perfect, but i think for where we are, he's fine.

We've taken some big steps in recent weeks and if you ask me, Adkins' biggest contribution has been recognising the weaknesses at the back, working with the players we have and moving on the players which were clearly shite.

I think Adkins was led by the powers that be to focus on the Midfield and Attack when he came in, being led to believe that defensively we were ok. He seems to have figured a few things out though.

My concern with Basham-Baptiste-McEveley is that I don’t think any suit the ‘sweeper’ role. Edgar is more suited. A bit more composed and with the height to win most of his headers (McEveley is composed on the ball but gets caught under high balls too much). Baptiste and Basham are at their best attacking everything I think rather than sweeping up behind.

I think Basham offers little going forward and playing him instead of Whiteman says 'playing for a draw' to me. The time for that has passed, our poor results and our league position means we don't have the luxury of seeing a draw at Millwall as a good result.

We need to play to win every game now. Five wins are better than eight draws. We may as well go for it as go out with a whimper.

I suspect if we play Whiteman we'll get outfought in midfield and say "we should have played Bash", If we play Basham, we don't create much and say "we should have played Whiteman". I'm leaning towards Bash for this one but can see the reasoning for both.

Must say though, I don't much fancy our chances either way

No, me neither.

Basham is playing tomorrow.

One change, Basham for Whiteman. IMO.

Looking forward to it, 20 points from 10 games should see us in the play offs, 6 wins, 2 draws, and we can afford 2 losses.

So if it goes against us tomorrow, all is not lost.

Whiteman for me, he did enough v Oldham to keep his place. We're in the last-chance saloon when it comes to the play offs and need to gamble.

Bash can come on when we're 2-0 up.

Sorry, but it's not going to happen.

Basham playing gives us a better chance tomorrow.
