Worst of the lot was being a hooker up a step ladder when the annoying fooker hammers one in, taking you off the ladder!

Loved your post Pompey. Reminds me of when I was coaching my daughters team. We were attacking, lost the ball and I looked down to our end only to see our central defenders playing cats cradle. I realised at that point I had failed in a coaching capacity!

Actually Tazzer, there were one or two occasions where I hung back and let one of the others 'be the ladder'.
On said occasions though, I would tend to try and gently float one in so as not to cause any problems for the net-putter-uppers.
In reality, such was my skill level as a centre half, my attempt at a gently floated dink usually ended up with the same result as if I'd smashed it in on purpose!!

I remember playing at Concord Park as well. There was, as I recall, about a billion pitches down the hill. We were playing at the top pitch and I was sub (again) and the wind was blowing down the hill toward the M1.

I ran more yards fetching the single, over-pumped Mitre Multiplex from the bottom of that fucking hill than those bastards getting a full game. I was glad when I went on, so some other cunt would get mobile chasing the runaway ball as it sped off toward Wooley Wood bottom.
