Good performance today, won everything in the air, looked assured, hundred times better that owd Collo. Adkins has got a piece of recruitment right eventually it seems.

I though Hammond played well today as well. He had to give a good speech to the ref in order to avoid another yellow though.

First time I've seen Baptiste, thought he had a great game, good player, anticipated a lot of the oppositions play and cut out a lot of passes and used the ball well. He will only get better as he plays more games and regains his confidence and fitness.
Credit to Adkins, he appears to be a shrewd bit of recruitment :)

Explains why Boro signed him at the start of the season, he was just unlucky to get injured.

Only black mark was one occasion in the first half when he let an Oldham player in and through on goal, although I thought he did well to recover his position

Regarding the referee ,what a game. Nobody has mentioned him ,good sign ,nobody noticed him ,great sign ,apart from his tackle on Billy Sharp (which he couldn't apologise enough for) you wouldn't have known he was there.
One of the best performances by a ref I can remember. have we had him before ? Was it a fluke ? I watched that cunt Mike Dean last night prancing about like Jasper Carrot handing cards out, stopping the game ,blowing his whistle shouting look at me look at me its the Mike Dean show ,and then we get that breath of fresh air today ,makes a massive difference.

That's a good shout.

The referee, Peter Bankes, is the second young and upcoming referee we've had recently and I've been impressed with them both. The other one being Ben Toner against Port Vale.

A good all round team performance. Flynny MOM for me but I thought Hammond ran him a close second. He covered an awful lot of ground today and broke up a lot of their play as well as playing some very good balls.

Baptiste looked solid, and a big improvement to our defence. Had a feeling he would be a good signing, just needed a little time after being out since July.

Agreed.

Hope Boro make it as Baptiste would probably be released and he'd be a very good bit of business for us.

Just get Duffy (unless Burton manage to prize him away from Brum) and we are onto a great start.

And yet you go on to praise another of his signings in the same post! Added to the fact that Sharp (our top scorer) scored again and that Edgar was solid again and it seems that all of Adkins' recruits that played today were actually pretty good.

Perhaps his recruitment performance is nowhere near as poor as some like to make out!

Watched him closley yesterday .very solid display .exellent spring in his heading .good addition

Only player that has been a flop is Woolford but he does not play him that often.

Got to say that i saw this signing as a waste, with the way the season has gone, i thought we'd be better off playing our own Academy players.

Little did i know/ expect that we'd be seeing Collins go out the door a matter of days later.

Can someone start making the car park statue of Mr Clinton Baptiste, he's already achieved legendary status.

Baptiste will not be staying!!he is with us to get fit, play games, too good for us...no plan to stay with us unless we miraculously go up! He also seems a nice guy..he was in the Mercure on Saturday night with a group mates getting ready to go out on the town for a 40th Birthday bash!!

We are 10 points adrift, but for the first time I feel we have a chance of making the play-offs

If you're right, that's a pity:(

Suppose it's down to the ambition and foresight of the club. He's certainly the quality (and experience) we need to lead the defence......and even the team?

Worth a punt?

After initial adjustment period, actually did quite well.

Could play right side or centre of three.

Would still need one more centre half but that was the case anyway.

Think (hope!) that Wilder will surprise us as he did with Baldock. Trouble is days turn into weeks, nothing seems to happen, and it might seem that we're not chasing relevant targets. I doubt Wilder and his team are going to be caught with their pants down, so let's hope young Wilder has his eye on those players who'll make us an even better team this season. The fixture list looks full of potentially good to great games, it feels like we've come out of the Wilderness (see what I did there?) and are now returning to the sort of fixture we've longed for.

He's one of the better options. Experienced, quite athletic and can play RCB or CB.

The only reservation I'd have about him is height. We haven't got much elsewhere in the team so we could do with at least 2 big centre halves. With Basham a likely starter with O'Connell I'd prefer the other one to be big and strong in the air.
