heard hes been having a decent game today as his full debut and providing an assist for flynns goal only to go off with injury unlucky lad hope its not too serious so hes not gone for long wanted to see more of this lad ever since i saw him in fa cup last season against crewe also 3-0 thanks to billy sharp

Looks a prospect, tries to knock a positive forward pass. Well done, hope he's not out for long. More minutes will mean more confidence. Could well be good enough for L1 next season.

The lad did ok today to be fair.

Hope the injury isn't bad .....

I think we should class that has his home debut as we really shouldn't judge anyone being introduced into that abortion of a performance against Burton. Like the look of him always made himself available for the ball, got stuck in and made some decent passes.

If one slight criticism would be a reluctance to run with the ball when in space but this may a confidence thing which should come with time.

It must be disheartening for Hammond (who had one of his less poor games today) when someone so young and inexperienced has so much more awareness and composure on the ball than you.

in fairness, it sounds like he was sick at halftime

It may have been one of his less poor games but I still think that he was the worst player in our team.

A couple of decent defensive blocks didn't compensate for zero awareness going forward, umpteen missed placed passes and no pace. He just doesn't seem to read the game.

Saying all that - really enjoyed today's game and am looking forward to a few sherbets tonight to celebrate.

Hammond was good today, for me.

The problem with Hammond is how much these above average 3rd division performances cost, rather than the performance itself.

Yeh, Hammond was good today, as was Flynn and Done.
The opposition was dire, hence us winning 3-0 at a relative canter.
I can see no other reason for the win.

Best I have seen Flynn play for a long while. Billy doesn't do a lot and then scored a cracker. Done deserved a goal. Oldham were awful, but could easily have scored to make it 2-1, then the nerves would have started!

nice to see Whiteman had a good game in centre of midfield as it proves he has potential talent like a few more in academy & ideally would rather see us try the academy lads before they enter the loan market.

Stick all the lads coming through the academy into the first team and we are relegation fodder next season, without a doubt.

He's made captain for the last game, they win the league and the photo of him lifting the trophy is on the back page of every newspaper in the land.

...and then the league deduct points for playing an ineligible player that they had no recall option on, and Tottenham are handed the trophy.

True, but it's good management to see these cameo's mixed in with the more senior players.

Maybe most won't 'make it', but if one or two can progress and feature heavily next season it'll be great for the squad and aspiring academy talent.

Agreed. Little steps.....

Apparently just a touch a cramp so nothing to worry about on the injury front. Looked a good player, tall and strong on the ball for a youngster

Of course you never stick them all in unless theres a freak like class of 92. But instead of getting Hammond on loan why not try whiteman to see how he plays 1st then if needed buy/loan a player. Because it just annoyed me that we let dimaio & khan go for nothing without knowing if they could've done a job at lane

I'll disagree with that. really thought he was shocking apart from two good long crossfield balls.
He could really do with an operation to have his Crab DNA removed.

Looked nervy at times, think he might have been instructed to make simple easy passes rather than run with it.

All credit he set up both goals.

To be fair, on his first team debut he is going to play it safe, get the ball, pass and move, keep it simple. I thought he did OK, didn't look out of place and the only time I thought he could have ran with the ball was when he tried to play a quick ambitious long ball to Sharp from just in front of the dugout, but he immediately started limping and went off soon after, so I think that was the reason.

All in all I thought he looked decent, could maybe do with some meat and potato pie in him though ;)

I don't think he did at all ,also laid the ball off for he first goal ,he was struggling with cramp for a good 10 minutes ,but I don't think he bottled a thing all game.

Billy worked like fuck and had to wet nurse Adams and then DCL through the game ,the pair of them look thick as fuck with no positional sense or anticipation ,Sharp won a header in the last 10 put it in a perfect place for his partner and DCL was about 30 yards away counting clouds.
Whiteman looks to me a player for the future who can play at least at this level. I haven't seen a single thing in all his games that makes me think DCL should get paid for playing football.

For me Hammond played just as good if not better than Whiteman today. The guy infront of me spends all game waiting for Hammond to make a mistake, then berates him, but when Hammond put in good tackles, headers and played some great passes he's silent.

Whiteman looked good today and played some neat passes, looks to me like a younger Hammond IMO. But I've never seen him play for the youth team so can't really say what type of player he is.
