I recently started a thread entitled “season over” and most people, me included think it is. But on paper at least, we are still challenging for the play offs. Looking at our remaining fixtures, I think that the Oldham game on Saturday really is our last chance. Anything other than a win would be too demoralizing to come back from.
However, we can improve our position over the next three games. If we beat Oldham at home, get something at Millwall, then beat Crewe at home, we’ll probably have made up some ground on 6th place, and could be only 3 points off the pace. Then the TV game against Southend and the following home games against Walsall and Gillingham will become interesting.
These are our remaining fixtures:
Sheff Utd V Oldham Sat 12 Mar
Millwall V Sheff Utd Sat 19 Mar
Sheff Utd V Crewe Fri 25 Mar
Southend V Sheff Utd Wed 30 Mar
Sheff Utd V Walsall Sat 2 Apr
Sheff Utd V Gillingham Sat 9 Apr
Chesterfield V Sheff Utd Sat 16 Apr
Shrewsbury V Sheff Utd Tue 19 Apr
Sheff Utd V Barnsley Sat 23 Apr
Coventry V Sheff Utd Sat 30 Apr
