hope Adkins plays Scougall at Fleetwood in attacking midfield - he's got an attacking demeanour - plays for the shirt - goes in the right direction - we'll have Hammond back in to break things up and knock people over - we need to carry some sort of threat and to feed the forwards - plus I want to see happy Scougs not sulky Scougs - his sad puppy face has got to me

Playing him would put him in the shop window a bit too. Might be a good idea. The fact he runs about a bit would make him an improvement on what the others have been offering recently.

Can't do any harm I suppose.

Seems to me as though he's already made his mind up about Scougs and is purely looking at players now who he hasn't fully decided on yet, mixed in with a few of the development players. Certainly has more energy about him than most in the squad.

Well he couldn't be any worse than the People's Champ Cuvellier was the other night. That must be the first time I've seen a central midfielder see so much of the ball and fail to complete ANY of the passes he attempted, and I've seen Monty play!

I do rate Scougs, as I've said many times on here. His willingness and ability to run at and past people with the ball is different to any of the other useless twats we have playing at the moment.

Let's recycle a previously known not good enough player into a position, because it was long enough ago since he failed to forget that he's no better than the current bloke who isn't good enough. :)

What's Ryan Flynn doing? Can't we confirm that he's not good enough for the seventh time?

Cuvelier has now played his "it's so long since I've played I've become as good as Messi" card.

He can get back to being injured / shite.

I love Scoogs. He will run harass and chase the opposition, giving them no time on the ball at all. Then when he gets the ball he will run at the opposition with it. He may be lightweight but he has the attributes that this side is crying out for, the fact he isn't in the picture means it must be for more than purely footballing reasons as, back in August, Adkins was keen to get him in the side even if it meant playing him out of position so he must have rated him.

Anyone who saw Scougall's "performance" at Rochdale wouldn't want him to ever wear the shirt again. One of the most insipid, cowardly performances I've seen from a player. He has one positive attribute and that's his ability to drive forward with the ball to give the opposition something to think about. Not once during his time on the pitch did he ever attempt to dribble anywhere at all. Any time the ball came to him he picked the easy 5 yard pass so as to avoid any responsibility. Another who perfectly characterises what is wrong with our club.

Sadly Scougal has proved that he's too much of a headless chicken with no positional sense. He fits in well with a 5-4-1 system, playing just off the striker, but has found that no other position works for him.

what are our choices? Paul Coutts - has the footballing skills but either couldn't be arsed in some recent games or has the Ebola virus (or both), Baxter (Narnia), Louis Reed (maybe), Cuvelier (not up to game speed yet) - should have signed Holt last year - yes he was titchy but at least he scored from midfield and knew where the goal was, which was an asset. It's not just Murphy that we're missing this season.

I like Scougs. He's a little terrier. Picking out games where he's been crap doesn't wash with me, nearly everybody has been crap in nearly every game this season. He's obviously been out of the picture because of something off the pitch, like McNulty and several others.

I agree, we don't have any good options.

I also acknowledge that this is all message board filler stuff.

But I can't help but smile at the futile "if we just did X with Y player for the XYZ th time, we might get a different result".

It's not going to happen. Roll on summer.

Yep, we should have signed Holt and looked to offload Scougall. If anything.

Didn't you get the memo? Holt was useless because all he did was score goals...

Another poor footballer.
He,ll be going the same way as the rest of the rubbish(most of them)
Cant happen soon enough for me.

Some very poor memories being displayed in this thread.

By all means give him a chance, but chances are he will produce similar performances to those he gave all of last season and all of this. Anonymous and ineffective.

He just isn't very good. Cuvelier was dreadful on Tuesday though so maybe it will now be Scougall's turn to have another go.
