Who is the people's choice should NA go?

The ideal would be Adkins carrying out a successful rebuild and taking us up in style for me, but I agree about Evans or Warnock as the right types of manager to handle our current predicament IF he was to go now. Deano would be a bigger gamble.

Evans or Warnock= No Season Ticket Renewal

I would like Adkins to go asap and Deane would be ideal until the end of the season (and then extend it if a miracle happens). He already knows the players and with nobody expecting promotion, missing out on the play-offs wouldn't tarnish his reputation as a Blades legend.

It did Morgan. Does Deano work with the first team?

I would love Steve Evans to get the job. He is the type of manager that typifies what SUFC stands for. Straight out of the Bassett/Warnock mould.
When things aren't going too well on the pitch, a strong likeable character in the dugout will always get "cut more slack" than the aloof "headmaster type" who invariably get their inspiration straight from a clipboard.

Likeable? Fuck me. If only Fred West were still alive.

Got nothing to lose with offering a great ex pro his first hotseat ala steve bruce/nigel spackman..........j.f.hasselbank at burton, poyet at brighton,di canio at swindon the list is endless................even though this has no guarantees (Sheringham, merson etc)we have absolutely nothing to lose because we cant get much worse. .........veira would have been ideal ...............if nobody available i would follow my heart & go wilder/deane

If you voted Evans I can only assume your a coutt (new word but I am running with it)
According to my dictionary a coutt is a slow moving creature that lacks aggressive tendencies. The former may apply to Evans but not the latter.

Evans. Glory be is it that bad?

Has anyone mentioned Nigel Pearson?

Third time lucky with another Nigel.

It cant get worse ? Remember Weir FFS

Imagine what I'd think of him if he wasn't "likeable".

Not for me, chequered past with a Megsonesque "quality" about him.
Colonel Gaddafi was more likeable than Steve Evans and about as Sane.
Charismatic is probably nearer the mark. But I'd much prefer someone like that to be our manager, than the pre-programmed "head on a stick" we have in charge now.

I'd argue with charismatic ( could we agree on gobshite?) as well but take your final point.

We've already got a gobshite in charge, but I will concede that he is a very different type of gobshite to the Steve Evans variety.

Sadly it now seems to be heading the same way and 48 points is not enough to be safe.

Points needed in last four seasons to end in 20th position ('safe').

2014/15: 52 points
2013/14: 50 points
2012/13: 51 points
2011/12: 50 points

At present, Shrewsbury occupy 20th place with 37 points from 33 games. We've got 48 points from 34 games. Assuming, say, 55 points would ensure safety, can we get another seven points from our remaining 12 games? After Tuesday, it's probably doubtful.

Also, don't forget our usual 'sting in the tail'. We could be deducted points for fielding people masquerading as professional footballers.

Just hope we don't do a Millwall 95/96 now (2nd in February when McCarthy left, relegated in May). Two more wins should do it.

Chris Wilder would have the same impact as a Nigel Pearson character, you certainly wouldn't cross him.

The players would go home running to their mummies.

I've just voted for chris Powell because he was miles behind and I don't want this poll to hurt his feelings or make him question his worth in football management.

He would be a bit rubbish though.

I rate Deano as much as anybody on here folklore.
But to give him the managers job you've got to be joking.
No experience apart from a little in Norway.
Too much of a nice guy for me .

I wanted us to make an attempt to talk to Grayson before we appointed Adkins. Unlikely he would have come with him reaching the championship with Preston but he should have been on our wish list. His record is excellent, probably the best out there, in this league and had recent knowledge of it unlike Adkins. I'd go for him should we pull the trigger (not that I'm calling for us to sack Adkins).
