Just wondering, if we are going to finish around mid table and not challenge for play off spot, as most have thought for some time is there any point in signing any loan players unitl the end of the season? I suppose we will just be spending money on wages for players who will not be here next season, what do you think? 0

Nah...unless it's Dan Burn/loan to buy/bed him in for next season ;)

no loans for me - We should play the shite we have, get them fit for their new teams in the conference next season - supporting grassroots football

Giving up on this season is totally unacceptable and the club can't be seen to do that, although they half have already with the inactivity in January. Even if promotion's very unlikely, a couple of loans would hardly break the bank. They could also assist greatly in helping Adkins out and building a bit of momentum, which is important. Ideally they'd also be players we have an eye on (and a chance of) signing permanently.

At the end of the day it's a really shit division and a couple of good, influential loan signings could actually give us a chance of promotion.

My full retained list: Long, Beard, Reed, K. Wallace, Adams and Sharp
Would go along with Reed and Wallace. Don't think Long will make it and I think Beard regrets coming - but unless he starts to perform he will be stuck.

I think long will be fine and perhaps Willis as his back up.

The beard, I think is still coming to terms with the shit that he's now playing with, but whilst I want to keep him, if burton go up he'll be the first name on cloughs shopping list for Burton

Esa, good point, I suppose bringing someone in on loan if its going to be a purchase for next season would be a good i

I would imagine thats a possibility, but with binning Adkins also possibilty (with McCabe) I wouldn't do it

Either being unwilling or unable to get any loans (to improve this mediocre Div 3 team) is an absolute disgrace, especially with that 6th place still a possibility. If Adkins can't get a single affordable player in on loan, what makes people think he will have any chance of getting in the ten or more players needed for a proper promotion-winning campaign?
Abysmally run club from boardroom to manager's office. McCabe needs to go and so does his managerial lap dog.

After Jim's terrible LinkedIn post I was left in no doubt that we would be signing no one in the loan window.

And I won't be getting excited about the summer either.

Perhaps Nigel would agree with those players you list Swiss. A play off place this season would IMO embarrass the club even further.
Iwould ensure we were safe from the drop, play some of the young ambitious players whilst continuing the cull and start afresh next season.

Why pay for loanee when we are going absolutely no where?

No unless a) like has been said a view to a signing or
b) he has decided on a squad and formation for next season and its an experienced player who can help someone adapt and make them better.

Saw the thread title and though I'd come in here to say I can recommend RBS, they'll offer 3.9% on loans between £7,500 & £14,950.

Oops..........

No, pointless now, save any money there may be for the summer and beyond.. We are going to need every penny cos there does not sound like there will be any more coming from the owners for the foreseeable.

There's no chance they could afford him.

You can just see us releasing all the out of contract players then as the season starts desperately trying to get them back because we didn't quite manage to get any deals "over the line"

Maybe there wasn't any money to bring any loans in. Our Board wouldn't have lied to him would they ?

I agree. A couple of good loanee's coming in could just be the difference in getting a winning run together and more importantly showing the fans that they are taking action. But, while ever no effort is being shown from the board then shit will start hitting the fan in bigger and bigger chunks.

At present, our board of directors/owner's are looking more like pub league amateur potential.

Petty depressing stuff really, cannont wait for this season to end and not looking forward to next, unless of course there is a pre season recruitment that whets the appetite, I know dont hold your breath. Lets just hope Wendy dont manage to some how finish up at Wembley and f.....N win it. Just goin to ring the samaritans, mind you it could be busy.

It's very depressing at the moment and if Wendy and the Dingles go up this season then I fear Sheffield Utd will enter a new phase of systematic demise. One I think will take many many seasons to break.

The board have to show the fans they mean business and that can only happen by allowing quality loan players in before it's too late.

There's no other way of saying it but our patient loyal fans feel cheated by the board if not insulted.
