Didn't always come off for him but thought Che was up for it today and is starting to get back into his stride...hope he keeps playing him up front with Billy..could be good for us.

Billy=great technique on that one.

UTB!

Adams did seem to want it today, and I agree it was a great finish by Sharp, a lot of them have flew over the bard for him this season.

Sorry Guys, But I was impressed with Cuvelier when he came on - seemed to have energy and wanted to get hold of the ball - something most of our players have lacked all season !!
Whilst not a vintage display a win is a win !
For what it's worth I thought Hammond played reasonably too !
Seems to me people have already made their minds up !

The thing about 'smashing into their lad for an unnecessary booking' is someone has to do that kind of thing..at any level you see people putting markers down, it protects other players and keeps everyone on their toes.

He'll be banned soon anyhow and we'll get a chance to see how we fare without him..I'd stick Coutts in there with Reed mesen..
Yeah I agree but he could be a little more subtle. At least Doyle did it on the sly!

Trouble with him being banned is that there isn't a proper enforcer in the club so it requires a slightly different way of playing

Tbh I don't think it's unfair that people have made their minds up about Hammond given the wages he's on. He's 32 and he's shown he's a very limited player, and one who always, always gets booked.

Wasn't the best but it was certainly an improvement on Wigan!

Adkins really does grate when he speaks and if he was just a bit more honest rather than spouting shite, I'd have more time for him.

He set up right today, but Hammond really is dire. Smashed into their lad for an unnecessary booking, but the bonus is that he's now suspended!

The energy levels were far better today and there are some young players I'd keep, along with billy. However that's as good as it gets
That's really harsh , he was having a good game and the booking was a joke it was a 50/50 which he had to go for ,their player was slightly quicker but the rolling about got him booked until he miraculously got up fine. This stifled Hammond and Adkins took him off to save him a possible red. Coutts should have been brought on for him.

But isn't that the point? If he hadn't smashed into their player in the first place it wouldn't have looked so bad.

I was in my seat after about 20 mins and said to my mate "had Hammond been booked yet?" 5 mins later he was.

He's awful in the tackle and most of the time they're hardly necessary, he can still make the tackle, but win the ball and still take the man. For me he's just daft

If you don't have hope you might as well give up. Better than Doncaster and obviously bury. Liked the formation as we really don't have any productive wingers. We need a spark and in the 2nd half we got the ball forward quicker and pressed higher.

Not great but I see that as progress, even if only little. Suddenly we have more options in midfield with a 3 and keeping 2 up top. Should have tried 352 earlier

I thought Cuvelier added a bit of class when he came on, has some pace, can run with the ball, and as soon as he passed the ball, he ran into space and called for it back! The lad wants to play and for me he looked good.

Lets be right though - there is very little for Adkins to actually try now.

He's tried EVERY player, tried all formations - loads of combinations.

Penny will drop very soon - the players are collectively crap.

The fella will be a fool and will earn very few friends if he decides to keep the vast majority who are out of contract.

UTB

Abselutly let's get rid of them
There not fit to wear the shirt!

It sounded like he was keen to get forward. Fingers crossed he can stay fit.

I assume Pablo Escobar will be getting the sack which means Flo has a great chance of being a first team regular.

As much as he usually deserves them and gets away with a couple, his booking today was harsh.

He also got pulled by the ref for decent tackles today, in the one just before he was subbed, all he did was cleanly win the ball, never touched the man.

Not entirely sure how their man stayed on for his one on Reedy either.

Agreed. Hammond just got stuck in, the Shite Vale players just dropped to get him sent off.

Why wouldn't I have paid for my ticket? You really will find just about anything to satisfy your obsession, won't you? Give it a rest.

Because you were so unhappy, you sold your season ticket in order not to put money into the club's pocket, so logically, you wouldn't pay to get in. Just like you haven't paid to get in here.

The irony of you telling anybody to give anything rest is there for all to see.

I'm not being funny, but if all he could take was small steps, then for me, he wasn't ready to come back yet.
When you've been out for THAT long, with such a bad injury and then setbacks it was always going to be small steps, whatever stage we brought him back in.
It's about building his confidence back up as much as anything

Lad looked keen as mustard just to be out there with his kit on.

Didn't do a great deal but I presume (because it's so long since he actually had one) that it's not his favourite position but he looked bright enough.

Only Brayford is on higher wages here belive it or not.

talking of wages

was watching west hams cup game and they mentioned Payet was on 125 k a week wages
or 6 million a year
still think they got off light with a 5m pound fine for playing ineligible players, a disgrace
look at how piddling that looks with the money they've received since

I thought he looked like he had real quality, very happy to have the ball and run with it. Looked a little lost without the ball, but I imagine that is the kind of thing that will take him a little time to figure out. He has played in U21s and reserves, but they can't possibly full prepare you for a return to full competitive football.

I'm one of the first to criticise Hammond but that's exactly how I saw it, too. He and Che both got pulled a couple of times for simply out-muscling their oppo.

Going back to the OP subject, I was glad to see him fit again to get on the pitch after a long spell out of football through injury. His performance was certainly energetic in closing the opposition down quickly and when on the ball looked to play forward wherever possible. A definite improvement on his predecessor. Welcome back Flo and good luck lad. I hope that you can keep yourself injury free.

Likewise. Ironically, didn't he get his injury on loan at Vale?
