Did you explain how easy it was to take an a/c unit to bits ?Don't worry, I did too.
Meanwhile, I blame the concourse nutters from Saturday because before the match they were singing that song about "Jose Baxter's bringing the Charlie..." I then had to explain to my new woman about our number 11's druggie dabbles.
Yesterday I had a phone conversation with her that went something like; "You know that player of ours I told you who had a drug issue or two? Well, guess what...?"

She didn't need it explaining; she watched on in horror as I queued for her hot chocolate.
Also, about half way through the second half she said, "I feel sorry for you, having to watch this every week." She's a fast learner.
Why was she wearing a green shirt with a number 1 on the back ?
If it floats his boat!
Doesn't come as a massive surprise really. Whenever he opens his mouth, he sounds off his head (& as if his nasal passages have had roadworks going on in them for years).
Poor sod. Addiction (of one sort or another) can overcome anyone.
Hope he has some time out & away from the game, & is able to properly get his head together.
Best wishes to him.
Great sentiment.
It's crap that he won't be contributing to our run in as he had something to offer in either goals or assists. And that makes our job even harder.
But there's a personal story in there as well.
Ah, about that......Only thing that would have surprised me more was if Higdon was a cross dresser
Think he's stoned already.
Spoken with a lot of compassion Woody and I agree with you 100% Baxter is a foolish young man and Wallace has been very unlucky to have the problems he has, both will probably look back with regret at the way things have unfolded in there respective careers. Some 10 years ago on a street in Liverpool there were two big mates, both with immense footballing talents.
5 years on they both appeared to have the world at their feet.
For different reasons it all went wrong. That's football. That's life.
They both have the rest of their lives to live and they have big challenges to get over all this.
Riches to rags is hard to live with. As WHF says above, there are personal stories in there and it will never stop hurting these two young lads.
When he did the interview I swear people were saying he sounded like he was slurring his words a lot but to me he sounded like he usually did. Does anyone think that he was under the influence that day or he was on his comedown?

He wont be able to afford any soon ,5k a week to around 100 is a big hole
When you go past the fact that he has failed a drug test for the second time, after a very lucky escape, and the anger about the fact he has been an absolute idiot to have screwed up a second time. When you look at it from a wider angle, you see a man who has obviously got some pretty severe demons.
I don't know if it is a lack of intelligence to deal with being a position in life where he has been, a young professional footballer earning money beyond the widest dreams of most men, or it is a case of a young man being unable to deal with the pressure that will have come with all the trappings of fame or fortune.
What it does scream out to me is that Jose Baxter (irregardless of opinions on footballing ability) really needs to take control of his life, he is facing 2 years out of the games now, as if the B test comes back positive and with his history then he will get the book thrown at him. Over the next 2 years he has to get himself sorted out, and sorted out for good, because the only alternative is that by the time he is 30, he will be skint, in to all kinds of trouble and will have thrown away the biggest chance of his life.
