James Shield seems to have extracted some reasonable info from Adkins re transfers. We desperately need someone, I almost don't care where it is, because all over the pitch we need strengthening, although up front to replace Sammon would be my chosen position, maybe centre mid also. It was so frustrating watching Sam Morsy bossing the midfield yesterday. It was like an Bullseye "Here's what you could have had"!

Dan Burn started again yesterday so I can't see that being a goer, but that's not stopped us all season has it! If its a loan move for a player from another club seems likely so it'll probably be someone not currently in their first team. Probably another championship reserve. Hope he's better than Sammon, Edgar and Woolford! Any guesses?!

Yaaawwwwwwwwnnnnnnnnn

If it is what's his name (flicks back to article) oh yeh Burn, he had better put john Terry in the shadows for the length of time it's taken. What's concerning is it sounds a fait accompli ground out by time rather than he wants to come here. Don't want a Billy big Bollox I'm from the premiership, we want someone who wants to wear our crap home kit and bleed to earn it.

If we land Peter a Crouch up front on loan to play alongside Billy (one of a couple of players not stealing a wage) we might be ok

"A definite possibility"
Great.

It seems from the interview that it is something that is a goer, providing we agree terms etc. That's my take in it and its better than there been no chance till the summer. Isn't Adkins a big admirer of Jon Forte?! Ha ha

It wasn't a comment on your post, just Adkins words. I can't even be bothered to query why just one though.

Adkins isn't going to go against the board unless his position becomes untenable. At the moment he's as culpable as them so he's not going to rock the boat at the moment.

He made a reference to some players having contracts cancelled meaning they are available for the rest of the season.

I feel the horse has bolted after Saturday's game.

I was discussing this with LS26BLADE and a couple of others yesterday.

We seem to think that one of the players we was after was Mansfield defender, Ryan Tafazolli.

He is young, hungry, rapidly improving and ready to make the step up a Division or two. Apparently we had an offer turned down for him.

It says a lot about the current state of affairs when we can't afford to go out and cherry pick one of the best defenders in the league below us.

Too little too late. The club are probably panicking now after the backlash of not signing anyone and now we are going to piss money against the wall as we desperately try to save a season that is beyond saving. If the loans are a view to a permanent then I applaud it. If we are just looking for a stop gap to help with our frankly ridiculous aspirations of promotion then we are just wasting more money.

Just about to post the exact same thing.

Far too little, far too late.

Let's throw some crumbs for those idiot gullible fans that are moaning.

He was the top man when I first started going. And what hairdo.

Spent many a happy time in the Morris household growing up circa 1985-88 in South Anston and also in Kilham near Driffield iin 1988-90. Lovely man as was his wife Linda.

Sadly lost touch with Lee and Mark (Lee's older brother was one of my best mates at school) over the years but had a good chat with Lee at the semi final back in 2008 at Old Trafford.

Lee is now u16 coach at Derby County. Colin was working at a car dealership in Driffield after he left Scarborough but then they sold up and went abroard and I think live in Portugal. They were running a bar over there but think they are both retired now.

Great winger was Colin. Very slow and nesh but tricky, scored goals and a great crosser of the ball. Would win penalties so craftily and could take them well too.

I was only young when Colin was playing for us so I don't recall him being slow or nesh (he might have been - I'm not taking issue!) but certainly remember how he could cross a ball. Could teach JCR a thing or two.....

We were linked in the local press with Tafazoli. I can't see it been him now though because surely if that was going to happen then we'd have sorted it out before the deadline, and you wouldn't imagine Mansfield would want to lose one of their best players on loan. I would guess its someone not currently playing much.

26th of February is the earliest we can bring in emergency loans if we want them to still be here for the play off final.

That's if we still have the ambition to make the play offs.

A perfect shoe in "Someone not currently playing much "
We've got a side full of like minded individuals

It's got to the stage now where I'm calling our lass "Dan fucking Burn", when will this end. :)

Is that Dan Burn I see?

The Smiths - There is a light that never goes out. The unofficial blades band

Saw him and one of his pals Derek roberts regularly in the troops

I don't remember him being slow or nesh either but he probably was. I was young too and I just thought he was brilliant.
