McCabe is the problem

I have only rumour and supposition to go on, but it would not surprise me if McCabe has cash flow problems.

The McCabe business side was in town yesterday and are in negotiations on a number of projects in the region of £700m.

SUFC have ownership difficulties at this moment in time as mentioned on the forum before . All not is well in the football camp.

A bid was made for Dan Burn yesterday but failed . Failed perhaps because we did not try hard enough , or we are deluded as we have no means of having a funding stream.

It's all a bit had hoc on and off the field , and there is no rosey picture with the exception we still have a chance for a play off place . In the circumstances a big bonus and incentive IMO. Whether we take it is another matter.

We are crying out for a conduit between the board and Adkins, but we're fucked without cash flow.

Not quite an allegation though is it? It's a statement. Totally unrelated :)

I think most of us know fuck all about football finance and how it really works. There are those who will cast all manner of accusations about because it suits their argument. Going on what we know, McCabe has been present through one of the worst periods of our clubs history. These are dark days and make no mistake they don't look like getting any better any time soon. I believe that McCabe wants what is best but he has made some terrible appointments since Warnock went. His timing and ability to replace managers has been piss poor. He probably has lost money but that is what he signed up for so that is what it is.

The fact that under his tenure we are going backwards year by year, only arrested by Clough who improved us and got us to two cup semi finals. We even sacked him. Too many reactions to outside influences like when he sacked Blackwell 3 games into a season, or Wilson without a replacement lined up.

He is at fault for many things, why can we not stick to things that have actually happened rather than chit chat and old wives tales?

It's not true though Danny. We got £23m from the parachute payments. £15m first season, £8m in the second.

A lawyer speaks: a court would clearly hold that the innuendo of what you said was that McCabe had fiddled the accounts. He could do you for libel. Maybe if he got tons of damages out of you, he could invest them in the club.

McCabe does seem to have a habit of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory...perhaps he's just an 'unlucky' fellow when it comes to football matter's?

McCabe relies more on hope rather than reality. He`s simply not a footballing chairman in any way shape or form.

He is quite good in the building trade though.

Am quite happy to pour petrol on McCabe so to speak, but you have wonder WTF Princey is here for ................

Spending millions on a 3rd division club, why ?

It all seems so half-hearted from those at the top of this Club

Me thinks Danny is on the wind up.

So many inaccuracies it's actually funny.

mccabe no angel, we know that them 2 years he is responsible for our relegation into this league after the disaster of a season which had a new team every 3 months. still think if we had actually bought andy reid we wouldve stayed up, but cant forget that for all his fault with their is many 1 thing that mccabe should be applauded for is we've never gone into administration or worse like many other clubs have, like bolton, palace, southampton, portsmouth, swansea, coventry or even rangers, most of them have been mins from liquidation

The biggest loser by far in administration then or now would be McCabe. I doubt it's ever crossed his mind to be honest.

Got lucky with Warnock as manager. All downhill from there, how can one person get it wrong so many times?

We couldn't have bought Reid, that carrot munching wurzel Holloway took him to Blackpool who were in the PL and scuppered our chances of extending his loan or making it permanent. Then, he didn't fucking play him.

By refusing to accept the possibility that you could be wrong? That's often my problem.

The only thing he's got going for him now is the fear (generated by himself & his acolytes) of how much worse off we'd be without him.

Could things really be any worse than they are now? We're seeing United rapidly being transformed into Notts County/Port Vale before our very eyes.

Thanks Kev. What a legacy you're leaving us.

In fairness to McCabe, I doubt he wants to see this club go under. He has far too much riding on that gambit, which i feel is why he tried to share the load out with HRH. If United went belly up as a football club, then the whole western facade of his business interests therein collapses, with massively catastrophic results. None of us want that.

What puzzles me is 'honesty'. Quite why he brought HRH on board and the outlandish statements he made need explaining - without any apology because I don't feel it is appropriate to apologise. I feel he needs to come clean about his ridiculous optimism, quite how much shit HRH baled him out of it and how he sees the future for this club. Does it reflect Phipps's proclamation that it will need another 18 months to build the club, for example? Where is the inward investment fro that coming from? He needs to tell us how much in the shit the club is. It is the coinsistent lying and obfuscation which is turning fans off, week-on-week. And he needs to stop scapegoating the team managers. It isn't they who sell Maguire and Murphy.

We won't see any honesty, mind because his mind is made up. As soon as the STs are advertised, people will get all above themselves and pant-wetty and buy them up, chanting the 'this is our season' and 'we should piss this' mantra. Then two weeks after some sort of threshold, we won't be able to keep hold of key players when an insultinly low undisclosed offer comes in.

The buying of those STs just reinforces McCabe's belief that he is doing the right thing. For himself, maybe. For us and the team, never.

To be honest, yes. What good has come from Kevin McCabe being at the club since 2006?
His treatment of Warnock was a joke and it's all spiraled downwards since then.

What was the good of him being at the club between 1999 and promotion to the Prem ? Warnock was lucky McCabe kept him in a job.

Admittedly he ballsed it up with Robson and we're still probably feeling the aftershock of that but if you think everything would be rosy if he hadn't been around in the last 2 - 3 years with a foreign owner you're being niaive at best.

Yep administration is a disaster ...ask Leicester and Southampton fans...I'm sure they are all Sat there thinking I wish we had that genius McCabe as chairman he would have kept us from administration

Administration would have been the way to get rid of the man who has put us in this mess but he's made it much less likely by getting the Prince on board.

What a load of rubbish.

Love him, or hate him, McCabe has put more money into this club than any other in its history.
It is not the amount of money that has been put in as the value of money differs between's people's financial standing.
Might be a lot to you.

He should hang his head and those of the board as well, in shame, not for his love of the blades or the monies invested, well done, but for being totally incapable of running and managing this football club.
Who was it who set up the management structure, authorised the bloated squad on ridiculous wages, kept changing managers.

Perhaps he ought to consider his customers( supporters), who travel great distances, buy season tickets and support the club, some over 70 years, who have much less disposal able income.
Probably would only hit home if supporters in total did not attend a game, empty ground or a vast reduction in season ticket sales.

What ever one's view on the current manager it has been proved that changing managers does not work.
Just wonder if Adkins knew the full picture when he accepted the job.
Not one for making predictions but I would be surprised if he stayed, if the time span to sort out the club does not work.

A pity in some ways that the other half across the city are showing us the way forward.
So frustrating and could have been avoided by proper commercial management.

Probably not a good time as a Blade to be working in Sheffield.

And now owns two prime buildings, a hotel and a business centre BOTH of which were touted that the profits were to be spent on team strengthening (laughable though a comment that was) which he took off the hands of the club for a quid a piece. He ain't here for the love however much he claims to have been born on Alderson Road

He didn't buy them for a quid each. He took the equivalent amount of debt with him. Just an anti McCabe fallacy.
