It's easy to blame the Prince and Jim etc. infact to the untrained eye a lot would think they are the biggest problem at United. Me? I think it's a lot more simple than that.

We were absolutely skint before they came along, some might say we are now - but I definitely think the rumour about Prince wanting to stick 5mil in and McCabe refusing to match it is the reason for it, it sounds far too familiar to not be true at least in some sense. It'd not be the first time McCabe has refused to put any money in... Think before they came, the season we came down the recruitment was dreadful, it was just loans and free's, then he sacked Blackwell, then Speed left, we got Adams and the dynamic duo of Michael Doyle and Neill Collins in what I can only assume was the white flag being waved and Kev accepting relegation.

We came down and cut our cloth but didn't spend a penny until the Prince came along. And for diabolical decisions aplenty we are still here, but it had been a constant decline under McCabe ever since relegation from the Prem, and with us having bugger all to spend it would have only got worse. We would have had Morgan back in charge after the Weir debacle and who knows? Maybe the worst COULD have happened, it could well have been League 2 football...

The worst thing about this co-ownership is that we can't pinpoint exactly who is accountable but for me it's pretty obvious and Kevin is getting away with absolute murder. If you're not interested in spending, why the fuck are you here?

The new board are seemingly as incompetent making football decisions as McCabe, fine. In fairness they didn't get the best start - being told about English football by the arrogant twat who thinks he knows everything (yet actually was only a decent chairman with Dooley guiding him). But they are the only ones willing to fund, what good is it if they leave? I'd much rather have the Prince, Jim, Sela being led by a proper football man than having McCabe and his cronies back in full control. That'd mean the death of our club as we know it.

Get the man and his poisonous family out of our club and watch us prosper. I know all the bile will be directed at Jim, but the bloke is only a sponge and puppet for the Prince and McCabe, who funnily enough never faces the music. Scumbag.

When did McCabe refuse to put money in before?

Erm... Can't you remember when we had basically an 11 made of loan players?

When Blackwell had blown the budget that McCabe had funded?

The end of the season before HRH arrived McCabe said the club would now have to stand on it's own two feet. Up to now, that's the only time he's stopped funding the club or said he would.

In any event, who knows the terms of the deal about the Prince investing money? Considering it was a well known McCabe hater who started the "let's put five million in" rumour it's mostly supposition anyway.

If HRH takes over, Jim and Sela run the club whilst he's on government business? Sounds like a great idea.

2013 close season is one time. We had to be self sufficient, remember?

Just referred to that. It was hardly the same thing as is being suggested now.

and I think it was McCabe himself who came out after the event and said that this had cost more short term than buying players.
Do you not think that it was funded by player sales? Like everything else we seem to do...

I have only rumour and supposition to go on, but it would not surprise me if McCabe has cash flow problems.

You can't be serious? All he could sign that summer was free transfers and loans!!
It rings home far too much to NOT be true.

And I've just said 'and a proper football man'...

The accounts say not.
The accounts will also say we had £60mil from the Prem on top of whatever compo we got from West Ham, sponsorship's, ticket sales, player sales etc.
Don't be fooled, businessmen know how to fiddle figures.

Apparently he 'won't rest' until we're back in the championship. If he's anything to do with it, he won't be resting for a while.
Which is a shame.

I think Scarborough Group has seen an upturn.
He's effectively written off £37 million ( share value may increase with a PL return) as things stand to go with the millions he's invested in SU Ltd where his shares are worth next to nothing. That has to sting.

Yes it's all gone wrong under his stewardship but it's getting worse and Danny doesn't want to put any blame on the Prince and his team.

Would explain a lot. But if that's the case why not step away?

I'm more than willing to put blame on the prince and his 'team'. For a start giving Clough free reign was a stupid decision and we're now paying the price for that.

But let's not pretend that they aren't our only hope. McCabe gave up putting his money in a long time ago, for right or for wrong. The prince is our only hope of getting out of this divison, if we're left with McCabe solely in charge we'll turn into a mid table league one side for eternity.

As I said , the accounts don't show that. The budget had gone, and he blew promotion with his negativity.

So half the current incompetent board would be a success with a proper football man on board. That's a leap of faith I wouldn't bet on.

We'd have half a chance with them.
If it was left to McCabe, his family and jobs for the boys mentality (and lack of funding) we would have absolutely no hope.

For whatever reason the money has dried up. Jim is still painting a rosy picture that no one believes. The reality is it looks like there is no money. If HRH is indeed our only hope then things are worse than I thought.

So you are saying that McCabe and the auditors have conspired to present "fiddled" figures. That's a serious allegation.
Where is the allegation?? All I'm saying is businessmen know how numbers work... :tumbleweed:

I think McCabe wants out however his value of the club is based upon the money he has put in and what he thinks the land is worth...ie the book value. Anyone looking to buy the club is going to put a much lower value on it as we are in div one making big losses...hence this jv with the Prince.

With oil prices having collapsed and us still stuck in div one the Prince has rightly decided not to throw more money at the problem unless McCabe matches it or gives him more control... hence the current budgetary impasse

Because, believe it or not, he wants the best for SUFC. Would you rather he had left Jim and The Prince in total charge ?
To be honest, yes. What good has come from Kevin McCabe being at the club since 2006?
His treatment of Warnock was a joke and it's all spiraled downwards since then.

We'd have half a chance with them.

See your jobs for the boys comment doesn't hold water. He's moved people he trusts over from his very successful business in the hope of them doing a job here. It's not a jobs for the boys scenario at all.
As you've said, one of his biggest mistakes has been in not employing a proper football man but think finance men and accountants could sort it.

There are some very dodgy statements being written on this site recently.

Let's think first before posting or Foxy & Linz could be in real trouble.

Put it this way, it isn't McCabe.

He should complain to the statutory auditor and police with his allegations of fraud.

He won't though because it's just hysterical bullshit.

I'm impressed that you've managed to base all that on zero facts.

No one knows exactly what goes on behind the scenes, could be a multitude of scenarios that are playing out.

But to make one up, and then rant about it, well, that takes some doing.
