I'm pleased you're pleased that the club have decided to write this season off.

I have been saying all season that a smaller squad is a more competive one, and tighter. 40 plus players all of the same ability takes away the competitiveness and I for one would be delighted not to sign anyne unless they are top drawer.

Burn, ok maybe better but Moncur and the lad from Mansfield. Give me evidence they are better than what we have?

Well I can picture the statement now....

"We had bids in for a few players......blah blah.......didn't accept.......blah.......good offers......blah blah......offered what we thought they are worth, not breaking the bank.......oh and hey, the loan window opens soon so we'll be alright once we get to the date that allows the incoming players to play for us in the play offs....blah..."

Pretty much nails it?

I am worried. Not especially because we haven't signed anyone but because we show no signs of building for the future. We were also told we would sign players. Both these things would lead me to the conclusion that there's no money. Game changing no money.

Blade too Long will be along at 1105pm to explain to us all why this has actually been a very good transfer window for us.

He's the only user I have on "ignore" so let me know how it goes.

Every now and again I click on the "view ignored content" button but it's always the same old irrelevant annotated photographs of something or inane references to Man City conceding a goal and somehow implying that this means things aren't so bad for us.

In fact, taking that into consideration, don't bother telling me how it goes.

Remember no BOOING it's impolite

Radical suggestion but how about we go for players that *are* better than what we have?

I think that's been obvious for a while. Maybe their is some truth in the rumours that the board are in disagreement.

It's a sign they've given up on this season.

Bit of a slap in the face to the people who's season ticket revenue they'll be begging for soon.

I'm in the fortunate position to be able to comfortably afford one but a lot of people especially with a few kids will rightly ask the question why they should bother shelling out any more

Give up my season ticket and I will be in fucking meadowhall every weekend, or I could go to the game and have a few beers.

As soon as he's finished polishing his neighbours Range Rover Eclipse!

For the first time in a long time, I'm genuinely not sure if I'll bother next season.

Why should I? If they can't.

Its difficult to say whether they're better until they arrive. I disagree on Moncur, he's scored 10 in 33 this season and that's not bad for a centre mid playing for a team that's bottom of the league! The scouting team at United are supposed to know who is better and if they can't find players better than about 4 of this current team, then them and the board need to take a long look at themselves. I expect from every sale that about half of it be reinvested back into the team not none. We need some urgent clarity on what's going on behind the scene.

Aye up everyone,I think we're going to be disappointed for buying players but looking on the bright side we are clearing the decks perhaps that's for next season or for loan signings when the window opens.

Trying to be positive.

Since the Prince has been here we've been relatively ambitious hence the excellent attendances
And fact that neutrals and bookies survey the squads and make us favourites every year.

However I do agree that unless we strengthen then I'd say we have slightly less than 50/50 chance of reaching the playoffs and even if we get in the playoffs we'd be big underdogs with this squad.

It would appear someone has pulled the plug on this game changing investment
Unless we never had any intention of bring in permanent signings and our strategy is based around loan signings. Even when the JTW closes we can still bring in loans, which is pretty much essential to push on.

Yes don't worry and don't forget not to renew your season ticket until the board of directors start pulling together and putting some money into the club getting some quality players in see how they like have less then 10.000 at the lane again......... The fans must stand together on this one

Did you get your economics degree?

Get ready for them to bleat about the loan window opening and then not signing any players then either.

Martin,

Are you having memory problems?
The directors have been showing ambition and putting plenty of money in.
That is the main reason why people have renewed season tickets and why our gates have stayed close to 20,000.

This is the 1st January transfer window we haven't spent big.
Or have you forgotten about Brayford and Done, who at the time were seen as major strengthening.

It reminds me spoils kid that has loads of presents every Xmas.
Then one Xmas their parents have little money so buy a pair of socks and a selection box for their child. The kid then cries and bleats that their parents NEVER buy them anything for Xmas.

Correct.

Do you really think this side is good enough to get out of this league?

I was looking on Statto and we are averaging just under 200 supporters more per game than last year although if we don't even try to get into the play offs I'm not sure that we will get that again probably go the other way!

I'm envious of Wigan they started off slow but they've got a real roll on now and they're chucking some of their parachute payments at gaining promotion just like Wolves tbh nobody in the league can compare with that a draw on Saturday would be good in my eyes.
