So David,

Adkins with all his promotions suddenly becomes a bad manager overnight.

So how would you appoint a manager. Just pay the lower salary and get someone from the non league?

No, history and evidence shows you look at someone's cv and bring in winners with relevant experience.

The problem is that the best don't come cheap. But the board showed ambition and brought in the best.

Are you saying they should stop trying to bring in the best managers and players? It might not work but I can't knock the effort so far.

However of course we need to improve this January transfer window, so we'll see if they keep up the investment as promised.
I'm not saying he's a bad manager but I have to admit I'm hugely disappointed
I was delighted when he was appointed.
I think the problem of that we are appointing the wrong sort of manager it seems to me that Adkins needs money to get a team promoted (something we don't have).
We need a manager who invests in youth

It's poor buys and lack of investment. Our Board is a complete and utter disgrace. The pig owner is showing what meaningful investment and making genuine and realistic bids can do for a club. Losing out on players because we won't match £200k bids from the likes of f'kin Wigan shows how low we have sunk.
HOW MUCH ARE THEY PAYING HIM?

Yep. Moneybags Scunthorpe. Twice.

Wigan on last season of Premier League money. Expect a bit of fire sales if they don't go up.

What worries me is that we still seem to be going for players who are no longer classed as good enough by their Championship clubs rather than players on the up who have excelled at smaller clubs. Wigan have signed Chezzys best player and also Crewe's today. They seem to be trying to do what Wolves did. Meanwhile every signing we have made since the summer have been players from the division above who are no longer deemed good enough for that division. Sharp may be the exception here as I think he could have found himself a Championship club but the others are all players who seem to be on the way down in their careers

I just worry we haven't learnt that these sort of players have got us nowhere. From the likes of Barry Robson and Dave Kitson through to the likes of Billy Paynter and now Connor Sammon. It hasn't worked going for these sort of biggish name players who are on the downward spiral. Our squad looks like a list of players who were at one time considered promising but never really fulfilled that promise

I know that's why I'm so disappointed I felt here is a manager who had dragged a team from bottom echelon.
Could he have been lucky twice?

Wolves did it in August though. Not January. It took Wolves until December to take control of division. You can't put a side together in January.

I agree but I would say that with Morsy and Colclough on board they have improved their squad. Whether they've left it too late or not remains to be seen but I think they look a much better bet for promotion than they did 24 hours ago

Wigan have parachute cash to chuck around don't they? Aren't they the richest team in the division?

And btw Sammon is fine.

I'd hazzard a guess that the signings they've made today are on less money than Hammond and Sammon. I don't think you'll find many agreeing with you that Sammon is fine but I would love nothing more for you to be proven right about him

And this is where I can't understand that argument. We've already sampled his ability to bring in his own players. They've been dreadful. Why anyone would want to then let him repeat that on much more of an important, larger scale with a lot more at risk is beyond me. It's just asking for trouble.

Sharp is a quality signing can't argue against that one can you? Imagine what he would do to defences next year with 6 or 7 better players around him.

The rest are in a very poor side.

I can see Hammond doing well in this league next year with better players around him.

Harder to defend sammon on recent form but he looked OK earlier in the season when we were a bit more gunho. The Peterborough game in particular we were all singing his praises, even you must have been? Our fragility at the back has meant we create very little for the front men. If we were creating ten chances and he was missing nine then fair enough but we're playing too deep and with no width which is only going to highlight his weaknesses.

Woolford is no better than what we had already but certainly not any worse. With a lot of players going in the summer he'll be a decent squad player whereas now he's just another squad player. He's disciplined and Adkins obviously trusts him from working together in the past.

Sacking the manager isnt going to achieve anything in my opinion. All we have then is a manager who not only wants rid of clough's players but Adkins' too. That cycle has got us to the position we're in today. Can't we try a different approach and give a manager 2 or 3 full seasons to do the job we employed them to do. The get it right instantly approach or you're out has meant we face out 6th season in league 1.

Have they really been dreadful?
Edgar has definitely improve our defence which was the priority, he's obviously still looking to strengthen this area.
Sharpe has been really good - goals, work rate and attitude - what we needed.
Sammon - started well and low on confidence, we do tend to play better as a team with him in.
Hammond is getting better but still has to improve - I'm sure Adkins brought him in as an example of what he wants from a professional footballer to others in the squad - I expect he will be captain before long.
Our business could have been much better but it's been far from dreadful.

My positivity is all used up on Saturday afternoons I give the players all the encouragement I can when there on the pitch

We are a shambles.
One owner who just wants his money back end off.
One owner who's lost interest full stop.
A manager who only buys players who have played for him before , all ageing and slow .
I am so depressed with this set of muppets

Hello David and err, hmm, David.
May I call you David and err, David
Were you breast fed as a child?
You don't have fantasies about killing your father and marrying your mother do you?
That's to both of you.

It wasn't over night but certainly by the end of July his lack of centre half activity had done for him.

So a month.

Through early morning fog I see
Visions of the things to be
The pains that are withheld for me
I realize and I can see...

That suicide is painless
It brings on many changes
And i can take or leave it if i please
The game of life is hard to play
Your going to lose it anyway
The losing card you'll someday lay

I knew the song but when I first heard James Dean Bradfield sing that it took it to another level.

I really got in to this song years ago when I first heard it on the wireless. An all time classic, I love listening to it at full whack whilst out in the car with my foot down

The theme to Mash of course ,I was never deeply into Mash but my Dad was it was always on and the song stayed with me. Really into the Manics atm cant wait to see them in May ,massively under rated band I think.
