Ted, the small "Aston" is in fact a Toyota IQ that's been "Astonised". It's not a product of Aston's design team
Indeed. It was just an attempt to bring the average CO2 emissions for their range down. In reality anyone with half a brain knows it's just a Toyota with a weird front end stuck on.

Related to the comments about lower league players with very expensive cars...

I remember queuing for tickets at the Lane (ah them were days) and being surprised to see Mark Morris get out of a clapped out Renault 18.

Incidently, George Long drives a huge bright top of the range Merc.

Once saw a white 4x4 on the A616 between Ollerton and Newark, turned off toward Southwell across me when I noticed the reg 8NAL.

Didn't have time to clock the driver so no idea if it was male or female.

Did you shout "Arsehole!" and shake your (goosefatted) fist at him?

pommpey

David James got caught speeding a few years on the M5 in a clapped out old Astra.

Sounds like it. Don't want to be picky but that definitely wasn't the plate though :)

Could have been B511 ARP (with a strategically placed screw between the ones). Or could've been BS11 ARP.

They're bloody nice though them Panamera's..

EDIT... After some quick googling, I have answered yours and my question SwissBlade

Wasn't sure if I could put the actual number plate on so just put the name. Guess you've answered the question for me :)

Most car manufacturers tend to have a car in every class these days. Hence the reason over the last decade we have seen BMW X5's, Audi Q7's etc. Then came the "cross-over" cars, Nissan Qashqai, Kia Sportage etc. So then BMW release the X3 and Audi the Q5. This is the reason Porsche released the Cayenne, Macan and Panamera. Otherwise they would miss out on market share.

Ferrari get around this by using Fiat. This is their "everyday range". On the flip side of this Nissan wanted to tap into the Luxury market and released their "Infiniti" cars. Toyota do this with Lexus.

One final note. If you think the Porsche Panamera is bad, look at the Aston Martin Cignet:

Was in th Porsche garage yesterday and they told me that because of the Cayenne and the Macan porsche have smashed their planned sales targets for 2018 already!

They reckon that the Macan and the Cayenne are outstripping all other models and the Macan GTS has an 18 month waiting list. Actually really like the look of the Macan, it's not a proper 4x4, but it's a hell of a machine.

Theres a house down our road they've just moved in and called it Analogue ,or bigshithouse as we call it.

The Macan's are lovely. The Cayenne's are much nicer now than the MK1 version.

Nahh. Decent enough cars for picking up kids and shopping when there's a dusting of snow but can't see either being adopted by the armed forces or the emergency services. Good sports numbers though. New Boxster is a lot of car for the money and the new 911 is a lot of money for a car.

Stick with the Land Rover x

I once delivered shopping to a lady who had a registration number something like M1LLF. Might not be exactly right, but the sentiment was... she was indeed a beauty.
Don't stop there, tell us what happened after she put the cucumber away ;)

Apparently the Macan caused Jaguar to reconsider some design/details of their new (and ridiculously named) "F-Pace".

Like I said, it's not a proper 4x4 and with the power they've got, more likely to be used for track days than school runs

69 SUE is currently on a Mercedes SLK 2.1 (2015 Model)
Looks like she's still a go-er Trig...

She may well be. It's a food pub but I can't believe it would support that kind of motor, although there may be some extras not on the menu :-) I might have got it wrong, it might have been SUE 69. It's just the same, but, er, the other way round. I seem to recall she used to drive a Vauxhall Astra....

He's had it for a while - bumped into him a couple of years ago in Bournemouth and he had it then. Bumped into him on M62 just before he signed for us too! Stalker...

The Panamera, Cayenne & Macan are all fucking hideous looking, and the Coxster is just advertising the fact that you can't afford a 911.

Whilst we're on about Blades players cars. Scougs drives one of those Mercedes hatchbacks. Nice but ridiculously expensive.

Those Mercedes hatchbacks which look like an Astra?

The boxster spyder is more exclusive than the 911...

I like the look of the Astra, it's just a shame it's a Vauxhall.

The Coxster is more exclusive because everyone is too embarrased to buy one ;)

Although the F Pace has a crap name, it looks like it'll be a lovely looking car.

If I wasn't saving for a Mustang I'd love one of them!
Probably be the next choice for the Ringley Road Yummy Mummy set in North Manchester once it's availble to buy.

Bollocks. The sensible money goes on a Boxster (or Cayman). Porsche thrills (and usability) and a lot less money than a Carrera.
