Seems like he didn't think we deserved it but here is what he said basically

Great energy, character and resilience
To do that after the week we have had is great
Credit to Colchester, got something about them. Had the momentum second half
Needed to bring Baxter on to stay in the game to put more in midfield
Take the positives
Lots of energy expended at Wigan and we've got another late goal
Big thing we take from it is the fight
We know were gonna score
Great spirit, dug deep

Short interview too. No questions about transfers or anything

He did his usual mantra of "Taking the positives from the game". But surely the positives take care of themselves. Is it too obvious to say the negatives need addressing?

He's hardly going to start slagging the players who didn't perform in the second half in public is he?

Don't see how we should lose midfield when we have four across midfield to protect our porous back four, their remit appears to be to operate from our penalty spot and the halfway line and not beyond. We certainly needed more creativity and at least one of the midfielders to push beyond the halfway line, hopefully that is what he meant. The reality is until we get a back four that can defend without having to be covered by deep lying midfield players we will continue to be hit and miss.

... before the end of the transfer window.

His comments on "not just getting numbers in, but getting the right people in" do seem to be preparing us for a fall. Maybe what lies behind Jim's megaflounce this evening?

Anyway, we'll see as January tapers to its end. Not at all optimistic on the signings front though, personally.

Agreed Alfie, I think securing Hammond for the rest of the season may be about it, and a few more lads on the way out.
