Most fans wanted out of the FA cup anyway, and if your going out what looks better in the records than a last minute 1-0 penalty defeat at Man U ..
Had it been a 5-0 white wash or 1-0 from some tin pot team we could all start moaning but as it is the only ones to lose out are the board because of lost revenue.
And for me that's just about right

Did they?

Just look at the last two.seasons
The triple assault season under warnock

Me i'd forfeit every cup game to have a chance of getting out of this anus of a division
You could argue the momentum of the cup ,the financial rewards and the good feeling made us better in the league ,why did it cost us.

Just take a look at the league table
Where are the financial rewards and good feeling in having to sell your biggest asset every year because you ran out of steam at the final.hurdle ?

For me I'd forfeit promotion to win the cup. It would be the greatest cup win in the history of the competition and it would shut up those big gob pigs and dirty weeds up for the next ten years.

Cuckoo land mate

You could also argue that cup success has just been covering over the cracks...
I think every fan has seen the cracks. The board may not have but what are the cracks thay have been covered if you have a new revelation and what do you suggest be done that most on here have already suggested or agreed with.

Thing is no club at this level is going to win the FA Cup, not in this day and age, you might get a decent run through to the Quarter or semi's whilst the Premier League clubs rest there better players but once you hit that stage the bigger clubs start to take it seriously and bring their full weight to the party as happend to us with Hull, we could not have played any better that day and still got beat.

If you want to see us win a cup, the best way of achieving it is to win a promotions to the top table, get more money In to the club enabling you to sign the players capable of winning trophys

That's why at the moment the League is much more important than anything else to us.

I'd like to win the cup!!!

In terms of leagues though, the prem doesn't make me think that that's where I'd like us to be.

Competitive in the champ would be great.

I would swap another 10 years in league one for an FA Cup win. In a heart beat.

Makes me wonder why you watch live football ( if you do).
Never gonna happen lads
Best chance we have of winning a cup is to get promoted from this league and generate enough income to build a squad that could win games like yesterday where lets be honest man yoo were awful and a decent attacking threat would have had s chance of putting the game beyond them.before the 93rd mi ute penalty

What are your best memories from the past 10 years ?

What are your best memories from the past 10 years ?
promotion to the prem
Premierleague football
Full houses every week
Competing on an even footing with top sides and not being little old plucky sheffield the league one mainstays
Having a squad who cared enough to put it in every week

What are yours ?
Losing to hull/spurs ?

Ah the memories of the prem.
Jags and CKR goals even Gillespies
Wigan game and all the fortunate incidents that wet spam had.
Now beatingVilla and Charlton as well as the others in that cup run was great.
Also, the Spurs cup run.
To those that say they don't want the prem. Competative in the championship what the fuck does that mean? Finishing just outside the play offs or losing in them so we don't go up?
Sorry, I'm with sitwell on this. Try to win every game realism does not come in to it till after you have lost.

Jesus, just because the sensible ones want to prioritise the League at the moment doesn't mean we don't want to win every game, I want to see us win a trophy before I shuffle off the coil, and the best way to achieve that is to win promotions (and yes it meanes getting to the Premier League) to be able to get the players signed so we can do it.

Why people can't see that plain and simple fact boggles the mind.

Ok yes or no question
Which game would you rather win
Man yoo yesterday in a tournament we wont win

Or wigan next in a game which can effectively rule us out of the play offs

Thats the managers choice and it looks like at least 3 players have picked up knocks or played while injured

Its a no brainer for me ,the thought of us trying to compete in this league again next year depresses me
the declining standard cant continue in this division surely ?
