Very slow in his attempt at closing down the number 10 for the 2nd goal. Similar to the goal we conceded at Walsall. Not at fault for the first goal as a Posh player blocked his runWhy was Hammond at fault for first two?
That number 10 easily found space to shoot cos Hammond went the other way and was very slow in recovering the yards he lost out to him. We could have easily gone two down in the 1st half when Hammond awfully lost possession near the halfway line causing our defence to react quickly to the breakaway and rescuing us.My thoughts exactly on the first goal but disagree on the second. I thought he was technically correct in that he didn't dive in on him and attempted to shepherd him away from goal. The guy just exploded a left foot rocket from nowhere.
Sometimes you just can't apportion blame to every goal scored against us.
Basham missed a couple of sitters including the shot that led to the own goal. It's been the story of his season.Difficult to blame the players for the first and second goals, another time they both land in "row Z", however the third was poor.
It was worth watching for the agony of the Posh player helpless as he heads it whilst prostate on the pitch and it agonisingly rolls in.
Joking aside, I don't know how we didn't win that game, if we'd gone ahead in that period in the first half when they couldn't live with us then I feel we'd have won the game. I'm sure Nigel will be none too pleased about the "game management" he speaks so much about.
lol have a likeWarwick Davies' 2nd for them was a cracker and he was an annoying pain in the ankle all game - deliberately trying hard and playing well.
Totally agree. Sorry to say this, but Hammond looked positively pedestrian yesterday. Hope Adkins can swallow his pride and let him go, cos it just aint working out. That number 10 easily found space to shoot cos Hammond went the other way and was very slow in recovering the yards he lost out to him. Yes, he was at fault when he lost possession in the 1st half that led to Long saving that break, but I just don't see the second goal incident the way you do.That number 10 easily found space to shoot cos Hammond went the other way and was very slow in recovering the yards he lost out to him. I'm that much of a mardy bastard I refuse to watch any highlights of a game we lost.
Should grow up really.
OK. Hammond has the brain to be in the right positions but his body is too slow and that is not good enough for me. Fully agree with Bergen's analysis of the three goalsYes, he was at fault when he lost possession in the 1st half that led to Long saving that break, but I just don't see the second goal incident the way you do.
Worth breaking your rule for the comedy value. Not only the defending on all 3 goals, but Basham's excellent work on our second goal is well worth a look. Should become a regular scorer with that sort of work.I'm that much of a mardy bastard I refuse to watch any highlights of a game we lost.
Should grow up really.
