Good following from P'Boro today. If they are such a small club then it's all credit to their fans who made a bit of noise today. When you see a following like that you know they've got something going on in the club.

Please Sir. Peterborough smells of wee.

We could just recognise that a (nother) team has come here and won. Like has happened for the last 4 years.trying to understand why how etc might serve us better than hiding behind our self - perceived status

As I said crying into our beer and accepting our lot is one option.

Having justified anger that another crappy club league one club has taken 3 points of us and not being afraid to voice my opinion that these sort of clubs shouldn't be on the same pitch as us is another.

Also like I said I know we're crap but unlike such as yourself I'm not scared to say that we should expect better.

My self percieved idea on our status is we're a far far bigger club with far far bigger justified expectations than the likes of Peterbrough. I fully understand why we're where we are thank you very much and I don't need anyone such as yourself trying to tell me to be a bit more humble.

The day I start to think that losing to the likes of Peterbrough is acceptable is the day I jack it in. You carry on understanding why we lose to clubs like this while I carry on getting angry about it.

Yes I'm delighted we're shite and have over 7000 posts that say so.

"Could have been dead and buried at half time but sublime finishing won it in the end.”

Pretty much says it all.

Maybe the only comment on there though that wasn't made by a halfwit or a moron.

My mate is from Peterborough and he still can't his head around why they're called Posh, he says it's a right dump. Also, I don't want to bring down the mood even more but we have conceded 13 goals at home to Bury, Colchester, Shrewsbury and Peterborough. That is not acceptable.

"View from" is always an interesting read and there have been some that (regardless of the result) are a good read. More often than not they demonstrate about the club and the demographic of their fan base. Sadly for Peterborough it clearly demonstrates a lack of education or intelligence. It was clear for all to see yesterday that there was little between the two sides and they won through clinical counter attacks, but equally could have lost the game by a comfortable margin.

They looked incredibly shaky at the back when we put them under pressure in the first half and a better side would have put them to the sword.

All that yesterdays game showed was that two average mid table sides could still have a shout because of the stupidity of the play offs.

Estimated population of 185,000 and average gate of 5,500. Not sure if that is good or bad these days.

There were about 3 times more of them at their end than I expected. Just a sign they are in a good place and we soon saw why.

I dream about the day when we have fluidity in our play with pace and intensity up front so that we are always dangerous even when we are defending. Once we are like that I might even start going to away matches again.

It would be great to see some pace in the side and four or five players who could score goals.

It would be great to have pace and 4/5 players who even imagined scoring goals. Having a go is the last thing in the minds of too many players, in fact Collins has that in his mind more than all but Sharp, Baxter and Adams, oh and McNulty when he is here. This is a serious comment by the way

I'll add Freeman and Brayford to that list as an afterthought. Woolford has scored goals in the past but is not in the right frame of mind.

.

Fully agree. We should have taken advantage of that. It was the same style as Swindon played last season and us earlier this season. Two centre defenders waiting at the side of the penalty box when the keeper takes a 6 yard kick and passing the ball to each other at the back. Posh's tall CB was very uncomfortable with this. It is a system I would not use

We could have had the game won by half time yesterday had our chances gone our way but being a game of two halves usually provides a leveller and so it did. Excellent finishing from Posh made their win all the more rosy and all in front of a 20,000 plus crowd to inspire the away side. Posh don't have any players better or worse than us but what they did have was the mental edge to close us down the second the ball went to a Blades shirt. Two, sometimes three players bearing down doesn't give one much time to react quickly to pass to a team mate and that was half the problem for us. They were much quicker at closing us down as in all the other games we have lost particularly at home in front of a big crowd. Add to that the fact we just don't like to tackle a player while backing off and allowing them to run at us is always going to create problems.

One thing we are brilliant at is making the opposition look good and I mean better than what they actually are. Simply allow them a 3 metre no go zone around them that can't be encroached upon. This allows teams to run into empty spaces without fear of a tackle and helps keep the possession stats up. Match the opposition in the closing down game and we're half way there. Stop running backwards and tackle to win the ball and we gain possession.

The moment we put these simple faults right the quicker we will start to control games.

There is more than one way of playing the game but what factors prevent us from playing the way you suggest?

A big LIKE from me woody

We're not closing teams down quick enough and giving them far too much space with the ball. It's criminal at times and painfull to watch and until we address these issues we're simply going to struggle.

Fully agree. Coutts immobile, Hammond immobile ( more so, almost static when booked as per usual), Woolford ( a little less immobile but still immobile), Basham (mobile but does that but little else).

I am saying what I am saying in full appreciation that Adkins is in "recovery mode" not where he chooses to be. Like it or not he is still having to work through various and numerous players' contracts.
