Looks like McNulty is developing. That's encouraging if he can become part of our set up. Otherwise good luck to him down there.

DCL still sounds lightweight, but with potential. Still only 18 (same as Armstrong?)

No mention of our Bladey rated but far too small and injury prone centre-back?

What? He can't get in Cambridge's team? Oh.

I won't say "I told you so" but, with the possible exception of Long, there is a recurring theme here...

Chappell, De Juve, McFadz, Kennedy.

Watch this space for Little Louis.

Sorry Bladey Blades. Good wishes don't fashion good players.

Ironside....Ironside.....

Mr. Kennedy has only started 2 games since joining Cambridge and was taken off in the first half in the second of those.

Sharp and Long, in the team and Reed in the squad Satdi. With Billy prolly the Bladiest-Blade of them all.

And wrt updates DCL is held in high regard.

Yes. I have never said Sharp or DCL wouldn't make it. Reed will not; Kennedy will not. Your haste to misunderstand me has betrayed you.

I'm afraid your final sentence is beyond me. Is there a translation?

Reed is only 18! Not saying he will or won't "make it" but it's a bit early to be writing him off. A lot of 18 year old pros haven't even made a first appearance yet.

Time will tell. I said Ironside wouldn't make it at a time when many were demanding he be first name on the team sheet. I also swam against the tide in relation to De Juve and Kennedy.

I now say Reed won't make it. Only my opinion, but I don't add 50% to players ability just because they're local. That, I think, gives my views a little more weight than the wishful thinking from Bladey Blades.

I think Reed's size will make it difficult for him. He has some good attributes but I'm not convinced he will go to a high level.

Kennedy, I think injuries have done for him. He has put in some sterling performances for us but his body is letting him down. I think his style helped overcome his relative lack of height but he won't overcome his knees.

I think DCL has a good chance.

You never can really tell, look at Matt Lowton didn't start playing regularly until the age of 21, before the 2011/12 season how many would have said he would have played for villa in the prem?

At the moment Reed is doing well for his age but needs to progress over the next few years or he will be out the door.

I agree about reeds size being a problem for him. If you're that small you have to be exceptional to make it and possibly in the Premiership where one slight brush against a player produces a free kick he may flourish.

However, in an agricultural Division where you can pick a player up and throw him over your shoulder ....... its just not going to happen for him.

We should loan him out to a Championship side if one will have him, to get some game time.

Thanks for the updates Roy.

If Matt Done is going to be out for any length of time, I would recall McNulty. He is a natural goal scorer and could play well alongside Billy Sharp. Sounds like he is grafting at the minute.

Really interesting views on McNulty from Pompey fans. The one who said he has decent work rate surprised me! I don't think its true that Adkins doesn't rate him, but actions speak louder than words and Adkins has hardly played him granted. I would have thought the most important factor for Pompey fans wanting to keep McNulty is how well we are doing, because if we do well then I can't see McNulty been recalled to be honest, I see no reason why Adkins will recall him, even if many of our fan base think it would be good to have him with us off the bench at least. That said, I don''t disagree with him going on loan, if Adkins has decided that he won;t feature; no point in him rotting in the under 21's. I wouldn't say our fans are fuming about him going on loan though, but that;'s possibly because we've picked up and crucially so has Sharp, who of course, is the player Adkins signed to improve on McNulty.

Not at all surprised on McFad's negative feedback from his spell at Stevenage. It's time to release him now, which is a shame, because he did look really promising at first. Alcock will go too I reckon on a free in January. DCL will probably have his loan extended and I can see Higdon going somewhere again on loan, maybe even Pompey since Paul Cook fancied him last summer. I look forward to us trimming this squad, almost as much as I do us hopefully bringing in one or two "quality" signings!

This is the acid test isn't it? Will Adkins already have his "wish list" in front of the board (players going out and coming in), I assume so. More importantly, will the board back him?

Time will tell. I said Ironside wouldn't make it at a time when many were demanding he be first name on the team sheet.

And yet tactical genius David Weir played him up front on his own at Carlisle. That must've been a rough day for you.

For the record, no one that isn't a figment of your imagination was demanding Ironside get a game.

Any chance you can do one on players who have recently left ,Doyle , Murphy etc ?

If it wasnt for Kennedys knee he would have been a regular first teamer IMO.Wonder what happened to the rest of the FA youth cup final academy year. We all know about Slew Ironside McFadzean Maguire Long Willis and Harriot, and I know Josh Reed and Danny Deakin are playing in America, but what about Cory Gregory, Liam Wilkinson, Charlie Anderson, Connor Martin, Ben Montgomery, Carlos Pomares, Aaron Barry, Ahmadi, Adam Hinchliffe, Ishmail Lammy, James Hamblin, Matty Darlow. Did any of them make it anywhere seeing as they were the dream team year?

I can make it a weekly feature if you like? "What Doyle is up to this week"

Still disingenuously moaning that nobody reminded him that his contract had almost expired and falsely claiming not to understand the concept of "Don't call us Michael; we'll call you...", I imagine.
