Lets not forget Tri Dellas 6 foot odd of solid muscle and he could play a bit not the fastest but he didn't lose the ball very often a good passer and could dribble and what a shot he had on him (thinking of that goal V Pompey which went in off the bar). I'm trying hard but I can't think of any ex united players who were in an international team that actually won a tournament other than him maybe Darren or Silent Blade will know different.

Can't think any ex players who won an international tournament, though, as a manager, Sabella was a World Cup runner up last year and future player Martin Peters won the WC in 1966.
 
Pesch for two memorable goals, the first needs no introduction, the second was a breakaway goal against WBA at the Hawthorns involving him and Asaba. Plus, he was just exciting to watch.

Totally agree - if we could have the Reece playing like he did before the broken leg, so much the better.

I can't remember who the opposition were (Silent?), but I was standing on the Kop for his first home match, and the bloke next to me said "Fucking hell, what have we got here?"
 
Twins Brian Deane and Tony Agana and wobbly wobbly woo, lethal partnership
 
I missed out by one season seeing the legend TC at the lane. It's grates me now when you here the wonderful stories about him. For me then it has to be;

1. Alan Woodward
2. Brian Deane
3 really can't pick between Morgs and King Keith
 
Paul Peschisolido for that famous goal celebration.
Hatton and Edwards for the goals in the 80s and Colin Morris for the crosses.
Murphy in defence with Morgan by his side. Kelly in goal, but I do have a sit spot for Jim Brown although he had a horrible spell when we got relegated by letting in a series of 5 goals a game(silent can fill in the gaps ).
The midfield of Brown Tonge and McCall, just for that promotion season and of course Woodward on the wing.
 
It is thread's like these, when we remember better times and legendary players, that I think (hope) that the best is yet to come, some time in the future, we will get it right, get a team of players that just "click", and start that charge up the league tables. It's about character, guts and determination, as much as skill. Just get the right mix of lads and we can do it again.

Easier said than done, but it's either that hope, or no hope.
 
What a question... First name that popped into mind was, of course, Deano, but thinking about.... Hodges. And Brayford is shaping up, but does not benefit from having great players around him.

Mrs HMB will say Alan Kelly (with a special mention to Alan Cork)

I think there is a beard thing going on with both of us.

Wrong Darren, west spam won the WC 1966.

And George Raynor who managed Sweden in 1958 World Cup and they lost to Brazil in the final
 
Ched Evans in the 90 points season. I have never been so convinced a player would score every single game.

Exactly how I felt about King Keith in his pomp. Might not do much for 90 minutes, but he'll score and we'll win. Part of it was the natural optimism of a teenager, but I still think he's the best goal scorer I've ever watched.

Didnt have the pleasure unfortunately. I got stuck in the era of Chris Porter and Craig Beattie....oh ffs
