Not really representative of the game I saw. Co-commentator is definitely not a Blade - or if he is he's one of the miserati ;)

Tbf it looks like:
  • a reddish card for Captain Jay
  • the ball was over the line
  • the ball was over the line after a handball
  • Billy's goal was even more jammy than it looked at the time, he literally knew nothing at all about it
What you don't see for instance is:
  • their player flying into Scoogs
  • their player pulling back Done who looks like he's about to burst through on goal
We have deserved some luck and we got some today.

Co-commentator was trying to see how far, he could shove his head up Coventrys arse. Add to that the missing out the couple of decent chances we had, plus showing that Fleck shot that was always missing, and you get shit all round, poor effort Sky!

We will take the win, badly needed.

We certainly had luck with us today that's fact, Hammond clearly dragged a Coventry back in the area, clear penalty, his mistimed tackling pulling back players because he was done for pace could have resulted in a dismissal. Long had more saves to make, when Collins lost possession, nut megged poor miss. As I say take win but need hell of a lot more than work rate, endeavour, commitment and desire that's the minimum requirements of any professional footballer. Need quality in January, but after KM comments at AGM that's not certain to happen.

I sadly wasn't able to watch it, though followed Foxy's live-tweeting. Delighted with the result – we needed any type of win and some good fortune, who really cares if it was perhaps undeserved?

Three dire moments for Collins on those highlights though – an appalling attempted clearance that led to Long's tip over, him losing the ball and being nutmegged which nearly led to a tap-in, and the clear handball. You can't really see from the angle whether the ball was definitely over the line – looked dodgy, but not as clear cut as the Brayford one last week in my opinion. Noticeable that the person that crossed it, who had the best view, appeals afterwards for the penalty by tapping his arm, rather than appealing for it being a goal.

That McEveley challenge was as clear a red as I've seen since Doyle's less memorable moments. I wonder whether the timing and fact he's captain kept it at just a yellow – any other player makes it, probably would have been a red.

How was he up our ass? he said the Left backs tackle was red card and it was and he said the ball was over the line.. which it was...

How does that show the whole of the ball being over the line?
We got away with a couple of decisions today but you got away with far more.

Was this the one in the first half where he pulls Done back, and then gets a booking for what's clearly a foul despite the fact there's two defenders closing in, one from each side, which means even if he wasn't hauled back he'd never get a shot off anyway?

If that's the height of the evidence in terms of the best shot anyone has, then sorry it's still inconclusive. Yes, it looks like it could have been over the line, but a quick hawkeye and computer rotation of the camera might see a bit of the line still grazing the ball. It has to be completely over the line. This picture suggests that it would have been ripe for looking at with goal line tech if we had it. We don't. It is not definitely over the line based on this angle.

He doesn't like us due to the "unfair" sacking of Clough Jnr, but hey he's a proffesional. Tricky Tree friends stick together, maybe Nigel was the wrong man for the job and thought too much of himself, like another overrated striker who couldn't hack it at Manchester United.... HMMMMM. Fuck off back to the Trent with your other band of merrymen.

What was said at the AGM?

Microsoft Paint. I hear that's what the FBI's ballistics teams use. :)

It won't be any consolation, but we were lucky today and that's the first time I've seen us out-clog anyone in this division. But we're in a position where we'll take whatever we can get, because the alternative is relegation.

Can't get on that pile of wank.

I'm astounded there's nothing on here about it.
I'm surprised as well but it doesn't sound good.

Almost certainly the JTW emphasis is players out. I would think the Murphy money is gone funding shortfalls.

McCabe has repeated that 43 is too big a squad and Adkins inherited unfit players. The ever hopeful possibly 2 or 3 players in but I imagine NA has been told to shift players first.

watching the game from yesterday & normally id try to defend our players but cant with mceveley as if thats not a red. no one will get sent off at bramall lane this season because that horror tackle studs up, out of control, off the ground & didnt get the ball

You lost. Get over it. The utter sadness of opposition fans creating accounts on this forum, to whinge and whine and satisfy their own sad existence, makes me weep for humanity. I am delighted that the ball was over the line, and even more delighted that it was not given. I support Sheffield United FC, and all I am interested in is that they pick up three points every game they play. Which invariably, they do not.

You've taken the time to download a picture, scribble all over it like Michael J Fox trying to sign a cheque, and yet you still cannot face the fact that you came away from Bramall Lane with fuck all.

That picture is far from conclusive, and if that is the best shot of it that there is, there is no way even a rugby style fourth official could have given that as a goal.

Dermot Gallagher on SSN has just said there is no camera angle or picture that shows conclusively that the ball was over the line. He obviously doesn't come on here....

Too fucking right he doesn't, he'd get serious pelters for not sending Gary Ablett off when he was clearly the last man and we were 1-0 up at Goodison (went on to lose 4-2). Twat!

Not that I get bothered by ref's cheating us of points many years ago (don't get started on Ken Walmsley from Blackpool).

On balance it looks to me like it was over the line, though as you say it is not 100% conclusive.

But who gives a fuck? It wasn't given and we won.

....or the famous Mr.Styles

McEveley and Collins are a liability and McEveley should have seen red for that tackle, but pink boots???? FFS!!!!
Collins definate handball and it did cross the line!
Their keeper is shit Long is improving and desrved MoM award.

Yes, we were very lucky, but about bloody time we had something go our way!

Actually, having looked at it again, I would be about 95% certain it was over the line. Look between Long's legs (oo erre missus), there is clear grass between the goal line and the ball.

It's easy to see how the officials didn't see it in the mayhem of bodies when they missed Brayford's goal last week which was at least a yard over the line.
