James Wallace and Flo Cuvelier

Don't think we will be seeing them anytime soon Adkins comes across as being very overcautious with injured players returning.

Reminds me of my mother and her tea set - doesn't use it in case it gets broken, saves it for "best" (mind you my dad broke one of the cups on one of the rare occasions it came out - we should have called it Wallace ). :D

If we can just get them fit for our promotion push from the conference in a few years time :)

The problem with Cuvelier is that he is a very talented player but not in the system we play... He's an attacking midfielder when ideally plays just behind a striker, similar to Baxter.
Don't see how you can button hole cavalier he has hardly kicked a ball for us he has talent we should be able to harness that.He and Wallace are probably the most talented players in this division we need them fit hopefully they soon will be.Giving up on talented young players would be stupid both know there futures in the game is on the line (contracts running down) we must stick to getting them fit.

I'm definitely not negative about Cuvelier, i think he's a fantastic player. My comments were from what i saw of him playing consistently well in this division for Walsall.

I refuse to get even the least bit excited about this news. James Wallace is finished, how many more false dawns can he have.

Talking of injuries I understand Terry Kennedy went of injured last match

He's another one that needs moving on at the end of the season. I know he won't be paid all that much but it's pointless carrying him any longer because his injury record is appalling and shows no sign of improvement. The club has given him every chance but we need to start being more ruthless.

They suddenly want to play football ....... vs Man U in the Cup !!

The view worth debating is this. Statistically (that is using mathematics as a basis for establishing facts) or as follows:- "the practice or science of collecting and analysing numerical data in large quantities, especially for the purpose of inferring proportions in a whole from those in a representative sample."

Both are more likely to suffer injury or another injury so as to ensure they do not partake in another competitive game for Sheffield United this season as they are likely to partake in such a game. Or both are more likely to miss more games than they are to play games this season due to injury or "injury".

Maybe I am being harsh (but I think not) when statistically the case can be made out for not throwing Wallace anywhere except upon the scrap heap of not physically up to it.

Do people seriously think that Wallace and Cuvelier are feigning injuries to avoid playing football?
That they would both rather have spent most of the last two seasons on the treatment couch than playing regular first team football?
That they are happy to spend months on end doing boring fitness and rehabilitation training rather than being heroes out on the pitch?
Is there a chance these are two genuine young blokes who through pure misfortune have been deprived of their fulfilling their boyhood dreams?

'Tbf' sothall, I think most of it is banter mate, although there's probably someone out there cynical enough to think exactly that :D

If we'd signed every player that destroyed old Marcus we'd have 73 wingers on the books now.

True; but the destruction here was pace which was Williams' one redeeming quality. His positioning, skill and decision making were all awful though.

Chill mate ...... the  was the clue here ;)

Nothing would give me more pleasure than for Wallace and Couvellier to displace Scougal and Baxter from the squad and rip this agricultural division a new arsehole ......

But I'm realistic ..... and I'm a cynical old bast**d as well ....

I liked the look of both of these players when I've seen them play (which is rare). But going on what has happened before, I wont be raising my hopes about them.

Both great players that have unfortunately had their careers hindered, I don't think Cuvelier had any previous injury issues before joining us, I was impressed we managed to sign him in fact as I know Stoke held him in high regard. I was also impressed when he pretty much destroyed Marcus Williams once match with considerable ease and looked a very good player (2:04 on the video below), I was also surprised we signed both as Cuvelier was brought in a week after Baxter and Wallace was injured, I think in total they both cost almost a million.

Florent when fit would bring so much to our team that is lacking at present, cummon lad get fit stay fit and do your magic for the Blades.

Nobody had looked forward to the return of Wallace more than I have,
But I have to say that I have up on him 2 injuries ago.

If Wallace could ever get fit and stay fit, I think he would give us a massive boost. Cuvelier being fit would also be a bonus but I don’t think he’s give us what we’re missing as from the few times I’ve seen him, he looks technically decent but lightweight and like he can’t tackle a fish supper so would be to some extent, more of the same. Wallace would finally give us some bite and ability in possession. Something we’ve not really had since Brown (or when Jags played in CM). Unfortunately, I don’t think Wallace will ever be able to play a consistent run of games. Flo has a chance as he has had one bad injury and then the sort of strains and niggles lots of players get when returning from that (like Diego) but I don’t think he’ll make nearly the same impact as Wallace would have.
