Half an inch lower and that would have been our Goal Of The Season settled.

I'm sorry to have to inform you but the game today was a "proper" game, rules, ref, lino's the lot. It was not forum footy where, who ever shouts the loudest, gets the decision.:)

Aye, I've had a few ruled out that crossed the line too! It's just jealously of the technique that me and the beard share ;)

A game v Rochdale in the 1980s at the lane, a Blade hammered a goal in, it went right through the net, came out and was disallowed by a dozy ref. Saw it happen to Sheffield fc ladies on night last winter, too. Silent, who was the unacknowledged scorer v Rochdale and when?

Adkins must have seen a replay as he's saying it was 1.5 yards over the line.

My view was it was over the line but I'll hang fire until I see it again.

I'd like to see the Adams incident again as well

It was deffo in and Im about 100 yards away. The lino on the JSS on the other hand didn't spot Scougalls foot missing the diving Oldham players leg from 2 foot away as he gave yet another crap decision against us.

From my view in the south stand about 30 yards from that goal it didn't look in

Sat in south stand today and that Ass - istant was just that. He waited for the ref to make the descisions and did not want to make any himself , even an obvious throw and the corner that lead to Brayfords shot.

With my anorak on may I say that it is actually sometimes the job of the Assistant Linespersonage to in fact follow the decision of the referee and indicate after, not before. I think.

Sorry I couldn't make the forum this afternoon as I was at the match...

Sat at the wrong end but the ball did seem to cross the line then spin back out. So it's a goal from me which means we won 2 nil and can safely progress to the next round of the cup! :)

And now I've watched it on the highlights it did indeed look over the line to me.

Done showed good skill for his goal.

Oldham's header in to the ground which bounced over could so easily have been a goal. FACT.

Certainly looked over the line from my seat in South Stand which is Gangway B. Agree about the Asst Ref, he missed some very interesting decisions. One in the first half when Harris carried the ball out, ought to have been a corner, then the incident when Brayford told him he had put it out after he'd given a corner.

The 3-1 win against Rochdale in May 1982? I was at the game even though I was a part-timer between 1979 and 1987 but dont remember the "goal" you mentioned. Who was it?

Best non-allowed goal since glen cockerill
I remember being at that game on John St and was right behind Cockeril's shot towards the BL goal. Saw it go in, hit the stanchion and bounce out. Our season went downhill from there and we were relegated.
