I must admit, I have not got a fucking clue how you can compare Bergkamp's Arsenal to Sharp's Sheff Utd. It's a good one that. Stay off the charlie kid.

I'm not directly comparing them in the sense you're making out. Your previous post inferred that a striker can only be good if he's regularly scoring goals. Bergkamp for Arsenal shows that isn't the case - which I why I used that example... not comparison. I'm not saying Billy Sharp is like Bergkamp or even the League 1 equivilent. I just think you shouldn't comment on a player's performance and write them off if you didn't even go today.

Whilst Billy Sharp might not be performing amazingly and "tearing the league a new one", he's been one of our better performers this year. Using him as a scapegoat when he's far from the problem is ridiculous.

Plenty of runs, not all of them picked out, loads of unselfish work done

Probably one very good chance where the keeper managed to block it, their MoM

Plenty of other places on the pitch where improvement could be found

Billy Blunt ha ha ha how long did it take you to think that up ? Sharp is 10 times the player of either those 2 , played well today ,he and Done should be our strikeforce for a while especially away from home. Unlucky today both of them.

I just checked the BBC website and it confirms that he didn't score. Again. That's all I need to know.

Nope. You need to know about his overall performance. Perhaps he had a hand in our goal. Perhaps he had a great game. You need to know more than whether he scored or not.

He's still working hard and making those runs as you say.

In front of goal, you just feel he'll always hit the keeper at the moment.

He needs one to go in off his arse to get things going again.

Done looked more lively than of late but he doesn't look like slotting at the moment either.

Done was holding his back quite a bit at the end, I wonder if that was why they took him off ?

Sharp played well today and did everything but score, he ran and never gave up on lost causes, in particular second half, a long ball from erm Long which for all the world he shouldn't have got to but he skinned their player turned to goal and did everything but score.

Disappointing on a couple of occasions he seemed to hit it straight at their keeper but drew a marvelous save at point blank with the keepers left hand which on any other day would have been in, (needless to say their keeper was announced MOM).

So yes, disappointing that he didn't score and finish the game off, but enough for me to see he will be banging them in again.

What's more disappointing though well to me at least is forum users who seem to revel in starting threads simply to rubbish our players. Some may be good enough some not but they are our players and they are all we've got at the moment til January so rather than rubbish them why not try to get behind them and support them. Just a thought!

He had a good game today, even if he didn't score. Looked to get a bit of confidence back. If you were there you could have seen it and commented rather than preening about something you've not been privy too.

He has just gone back to how useless he was the last time he was with us.

Wouldn't go that far Bladesman, needs a goal to restore his confidence, but wouldn't be an automatic pick for me at the moment, although all are forwards are struggling.
