...There isn't one. I can't be bothered. It's late; got a presenation at work at 8.30am in the morning and if those set of over paid tossers; cannot be bothered then I cannot. Sorry for apathy but tonight even I cannot find the motivation.

Tonight was a Port Vale under Warnock, a Walsall in the 80's. It was up there for a new low. A real debacle. We were playing a side that had not won for nearly 2 months and they thumped us; at our ground.

In summary, we were shite. Every single player. Cannot think of one positive. The defence was slow, mistaken ridden and awful. Long saved nothing but had no protection. The midfield were pathetic and the forward slow and immobile. Individually abysmal, collectively terrible. No tactics, no organisation, no discipline and more than anything no passion. Freeman had a nightmare; the centre halves were static. Basham is a poor player and not sure he is good enough in any position. Collins an embarrasment but then we replace him with someone even worse in McEveley. Harris needs 9 touches to do anything. Reed showed that he is simply not good enough (as I said the other day he is nowhere near good enough and the last 7 or 8 games I have seen him start he has been shocking). Hammond slow and losing runners. Adams looked like a pub player. Sharp slow and languid. Sammon basically is the worst big player I have ever seen in that he cannot win any headers.

Why Campbell Ryce was not playing after being our best attacker in recent times was beyond me. He made 3 channges at half time but he wishes he could have made 11. Baxter made our goal and did a few decent things but was subbed which was ridiculous.

People will come on here and discuss tactics, players, selections but in truth I dont give a damn about any of that; tonight I saw for long periods a set of players who looked like they did not want to be there. They actually looked like they did not give a damn. As boos came down and chants of 'what a load of rubbish'; they still did not win 50/50's or tackles and still just looked like a set of players that had somehow just find themselves on a football field.

Adkins is not motivating the side; not getting them playing as a team and if anything the defence is even worse under him. It is abysmal. Tonight was a new low for me as the third went in Basham and Collins did not even berate each other; they just looked down at the floor after neither had bothered marking the one player in the box.

This side is looking more like a relegation side than a promotion one. I saw no fight at all tonight. None. It was a pathetic effort. Some will blame the fans. So what they booed a bit and sang' youre not fit to wear the shirt.' They are right. These players are a joke and sadly so is the manager who is we had not sacked so many managers in recent times would also have been sacked by now. He will remain but only because they know they have no option to keep him. However if they carry on recent run of game and performances into New Year not sure even they can justify keeping him just because we cant change another manager. Relegation would be disastrous for the club. People may laugh at such a suggestion but I saw a relegation side tear us to pieces tonight and could easily have scored 7 or 8 goals.

Right off to bed. Thanks SUFC. You are still surprising me how incompetent you can be.

Here's a short version......

We were wank they were better than us.

They arnt bothered because most of them know they will be gone in Jan or May... Thats if we can find someone silly enough to take them off our hands.

Can we just pay some of them off now?

This club is toxic atm and we need a cure.

I bet Adkins wishes he never came now.

All the back are abselutly shite
And anybody who comes on and defends the full backs are demented they are the worst in the division.
Basham and Collins fucking joke.
Got to agree, all this topped off by a failing manager picking and playing his failing favourites every game

That Freeman is just adept at posing and he commits cynical fouls when done for pace, he moans like spoiled ninny every time he's penalised by a referee. Comes across as a whining modern footballer, all tattoo, beard and duff hairstyle..and what? Fuck all else about the man.

That's when he gets anywhere near who he's marking!

I think Baxter might have been taken off because he was close to losing his rag, not sure though.

One of the most disappointing aspects of tonight were the terrible tackles that started flying in. Baxter was lucky not to be booked for one early one, Hammond was rightly booked for a dreadful trip on the edge of the area and who was it that flew in on their winger for their third? That tackle managed to simultaneously be too hard and too soft. Whoever it was flew in attempting to wipe his man out but managed to largely miss both man and ball allowing the winger to wander in and cross at his leisure.

The players seemed to think that if they went in hard we'd think they were trying. Unfortunately these 'hard' tackles were mostly dreadful. We don't want to see opposition players with broken legs just because you're having a bad day at the office FFS!

The players may be limited to say the least but they are more than good enough to hold their own at this level. Whichever way you look at it Adkins is underperforming to a degree that is totally unacceptable and has to go.

I Honestly dont know what to say, I've no words tonight feel more down than our 2 relegations, never thought David weir final game or Fleetwood 2-1 loss back in march 2014/15 could be topped, but pitiful display probably has because that 10ish min spell from 1-0 > 1-3 can't remember when I was so embarrassed

Im all out of ideas solutions & havent a clue where we go from here

The missed tackle was Baxter. Freeman was AWOL again. As other have said, both full backs were particularly woeful. Kieran Wallace can consider himself pretty unlucky to have lost out to Harris, who's been poor since he came back into the side.

I appreciate there are those that don't want to boo or berate there team especially during the 90 minutes but please, what sort of supporter (and there were a fair few) claps off there team when they have just been murdered 4-2 at home to minnow relegation fodder after the most abysmal defensive performance at home in years?? If any of you come on this forum, I'll have 2oz of whatever it was you were on tonight

Exactly...hes so shit he has to chop down when he does get anywhere near. Then the offhand flounce, flick of the wrist, restore the hairstyle, and toss it off again till the end of the mmatch. No one will notice hes putting no effort in and is devoid of talent.

Yes I thought it was Baxter, the only reason I doubted it is because it was where Freeman should have been! Cheers.

When he came back from Mansfield, I was very dubious about his return, but to be fair, he was playing reasonably well at the start of the season but now ?. Run ragged by the black kid up front for Shrewsbury, in fact Freeman has only just climbed out of his pocket.

Agreed, we were awful. We have a manager who seemingly cannot motivate his team, and drops the best (OK, least bad) players after one average/poor game or because a supposed better option becomes available. He then brings on two centre halves when chasing a game. But sack him and where does it get you? Hasty sackings got us worse managers than Clough and Wilson. I guess we stick with it, but he really needs to figure out how to get the players to put in any sort of effort or show some sense of heart or responsibility.

And failing that, I quite fancy some of the away games in League Two.

Just got back home.

What happened? Can't believe we lost to Shrewsbury 2 - 4.

Glory be.

HH

This line keeps getting trotted out Chipsncake about more than good enough to hold their own, clearly they are proving that they are not.

Going to stick my head above the parapet a bit, but as poor as the showing was tonight, I have seen far worse displays but there's no disguising the result. I don't think we should take anything away from the Shrews tonight, who battled well tonight after going one down away from home, and were clinical in their finishing, certainly showed us how to deliver decent dead ball kicks. One or two of their players would be more than welcome to wear the white and thin red stripe shirt.

"Port Vale under Warnock"?

Well that never happened. I think you mean "Port Vale under Heath before Warnock came in and turned us into a giant-killing, pig-thrashing, semi-final-reaching, promotion-winning, 30000-average-crowd-attracting club"

Port Vale was under Heath, not Warnock.

Warnock was a much under appreciated manager by a significant number of people on this and other forums. But anyone who thinks we would be in anything like the state we are in now if we were still managed by him must be taking very powerful mind altering drugs

Just arrived home. Skimmed through comments on here and it's all been said for me by others. There seems to be no sense of team at the moment, and I do wonder what's happening behind the scenes. We have old boys, Clough's boys and Adkin's boys and too many with not much to do and I wonder if there are subversive cliques forming. Who knows?

I actually chose to miss tonight as I was working late and as the time to leave got closer I thought "fuck it" and did more work rather than go to what should be my first choice of entertainment. As I have a season ticket I suppose that says quite a lot.

Under Clough I thought Bash and Jay were a decent pairing despite neither really looking like centre halves. Likewise the full backs looked more solid. Both were due to the five man (or six man) midfield we played.

I was looking forward to attacking teams again but we have looked so fragile it's untrue. I can only recall the fleetwood game and the second half against Southend as being the time where we've looked remotely in control. Every other home game we looked like we were counter attacking them.

Barring a Bournemouth style resurrection (when Howe rejoined) this season is a write off. Do we trust Adkins to do the full rebuild? My feeling is that someone needs a proper amount of time to build a team, sadly no one gets that anymore and the way Adkins is going it will take some balls to offer him two full seasons.

For real ? Was that the 3rd or 4th time that Baxter left Freeman to deal with 3 men ?
