I have such an issue with this whole 'get Clough back' line that people are pulling out.

Firstly, you seem to remember just how dull we were under Clough. You didn't need to even bother turning up until half time every game as you wouldn't have missed anything.

Secondly, we were garbage. However, there were games where we would be truly atrocious but Murphy would wave his magic wand and win us some points. Adkins doesn't have the luxury of having a player anywhere near the quality of Murphy. We haven't replaced him and now the cupboards are bare.

If Clough had this squad we would be in exactly the same position. Changing managers will ache ove absolutely nothing. We need new players. 11 to be exact. Whoever is in charge will need money though, which the board won't allow. Look at Steve Cotterill, truly terrible manager, but he was given money and smashed the league with Bristol City.

Doesn't matter who the manager is if the players available are of as poor a quality as ours.

look at the talent Adkins had at Southampton. You forget Clough brought in some good players such as Che, Basham, Brayford, Coutts, Harris, McNulty just to name a few. Who has Adkins brought in Hammond, Sharp, Woolford, Sammon. At least Nigel Clough brought in some great talent. Also before Clough came in Murphy the fans wanted Murphy gone as other managers couldn't give him the confidence he needed. Clough did. He also got Flynn playing.

There is no way you can say we only got those results due to Murphy. They were down to Nigel Clough.

Adkins had players like Lallana, a young sharp, Morgan Schniederlin and big Rickie Lambert. With us he's got Old sharp.

He should just get the sack for making Mceverly captain. That was his biggest mistake

Adkins is far from perfect but we were also dreadful to watch under Clough. The other 2 times Adkins managed in this league, he has been promoted from it. Nothing wrong with his credential, but the squad he has is utterly utterly shite.
