I agree. In my opinion, the correct thing to do would be to let him go now. We're not going anywhere now and considering his horrible showing for the one's he's brought in already, I definitely wouldn't want him in charge of 30 odd more decisions when the re-build takes hold.
There comes the problem though. We've been caught in a complex catch 22 scenario, unknowingly to the board and most of the fans. This is that when the right thing to do with other managers in the past was to give them more time (Wilson), we took the wrong option and sacked him. Now, when the right option is to sack Adkins, it just isn't going to happen because of the fear of getting this one wrong too. That applies to the board and most of the fans, which is why most are in favour of keeping Adkins.
This is just heated even more by a fan-invented viewpoint that all the managers have been blameless and the board have just been trigger happy. And that mindset is sinking into the board, hence some of Jim Phipps' comments. We're avoiding (not learning) from a past experience, when in actual fact the correct thing to do is the thing the board thinks it's doing right by avoiding. (in this case sacking Adkins). - And that's what I was referring to when I mentioned complexity.
