Does anyone know why we never have under 21 internationals at BDTBL.
Is there a criteriafor the ground being picked or does the club have to put itself forward to host a game. Or is it just a random pick for which Southern ground is picked?

Sadly when they do come north, they end up choosing Pigsty. :(

Or Pride Park, or Britannia Stadium, or pretty much anywhere other than BDTBL, really.

Maybe United say no? I know it sounds silly, but they don't play reserve matches there or anything like that do they? And our pitch is a bit shit so they probably want it to be used just for us.

If not then I don't see why we're not picked, nice setup, big ground, central. Can't go wrong.

Your 2 mentioned stadiums aren't that bad though (although trying to get a beer near the Britannia is hell)

Whereas Turf Moor is a dump on 2 sides of the ground.

WEll, I do seem to remember reading an article once that stated we was looking to bring international fixtures to us in the future much the same as Pride park managed etc.

As for the pitch, I thought it was looking pretty fantastic at the Colchester Game

Ah right, never read that tbh :o

It always looks ok early in the season, it's normally around January-February time it starts to deteriorate. I hope we get one though, I find Under-21's better than the full internationals at times.

I think we should have some kind of international matches at the lane. After all it is really the birthplace of English football - oldest league ground etc. Im sure more people in Sheffield would go to a under 21 game then in Stoke for example.

I remember one game not to long ago being at Turf moor.

Does seem strange that we wouldn't be considered if I'm honest.

Not fashionable enough, and the other lot have more seats, and Dave Richards on the FA. Don Valley was chosen ahead of Beautiful Down Town Bramall Lane for matches up to Under 18 level until a few years ago.

Doubt what? more people going in Sheffield then somewhere like Stoke...

I think so, how many were at Hillsborough for the under 21 match the other year? Sure it was about 30,000.

I went to that :) it was against Poland. Shame I had to set foot in the pig-sty, like.
