A staple port of call for any Blade on a proper London away day. Gone for good to be replaced by a fucking Gastropub.

Enjoyed quite a few visits there and some very interesting times.........

If you're on the look out for somewhere else to masturbate before away matches I can point you to a few places. The Axe on Hackney Road, Browns round the corner, the White Horse down towards Shoreditch, the Sports Bar a few doors up from there. Just bring a few pound coins.

That was the route we went on for my son-in-law's stag do :rolleyes:

I was sworn not to reveal where we went to my daughter lol - but I did alright at the table football - defence (although to be truthful I was the Collins of the team :D)
 
This post is bringing back a few mem'ries. I've only been to The Smoke in the last ten years for 'Wembley, train back, forget all about it' days but I used to work down there. Is Dirty Dicks still going?

There's shit and there's shit. Some shit boozers are good, some are just shit. My favourite one round there is The Gun round the corner. It's a bit of a black hole for pubs. There used to be a fantastic place called The Throgmorton, but that's been shut for years now.

If any of you ever want a tour of the capital's strip pubs before a London away game, I'll be happy to oblige.

Dirty Dicks has had a bit of a makeover sometime since March (when it was a dive), and is actually a lot nicer now. Still full of RBS types, but I genuinely quite like it.

If I'm not mistaken the week after the forgettable game against the pigs in 93 didn't the flying Scotsman apear all over the front page of the news of the world regarding its extra service other than selling shit lager and beer ?

"Our reporter made his excuses and left" was normally the closing line. I always wondered (as a teenager back then) how true that actually was.
