Was O'Halloran the one we used to have? Interesting to see Carroll in goal for County. I remember in our last season in the PL - at home to Man. U. - and Rooney was practicing at the Bramall Lane end, pre kick-off. The power he generated was phenominal - threatening to rip the net off. Carroll (Man. U's sub. goalie) was trying to keep them out as the regular goalie (possibly Van Der Saar) was considered too valuable!

Anyway, back to last night's game, the romance of the cup blah, blah. I can't really comment on how good Salford were as Notts County put in possibly the most shameful performance I've ever seen from a professional club - and I've watched United for over 50 years .

'the fuck was all that about? At the end the players were actually thanking the BBC commentary team for giving them pre-match advice!

The only reason half of them are playing there is so they can rub shoulders with the former Man U players, they are half-owned by a billionaire, they have access to resources (and I don't just mean money) that many clubs at our level would dream of, they have a squad of players which wouldn't look out of place two or even three leagues higher than they currently are, trying to sell this as a (potential) "giant killing" or an example of "the romance of the cup" was a complete joke.

Just been to see them beat the Pig Reserves. 1-0 the Alty. Great atmosphere. Funny really because I could have used my free ticket to see the Blades, but I just couldn't be arsed. A better atmosphere at Moss Lane than I've heard all season at BDTBL. Apparently they have the record of 17 wins against leagues sides by a team that has never been in the football league so 1981 wasn't really so bad.
