Worth a mention on this forum because Powell did at Charlton what Adkins needs to do between now and next season. That is a total clear out, low cost recruitment and follow it up by leading League 1 from start to finish.

They got a draw at Reading last night didn't they? They appear to be holding their own in the division as well. Seems a tad shit to kick the bloke out at that point.

We can't. He'll have a notice period and the most we could do is make him work it out or put him on gardening leave. That wouldn't benefit us.

I think it's ridiculously harsh. They're a club in the have nots section of the championship compared to those chucking cash around. Being clear of relegation is all they can reasonably expect and he's been delivering that.

They've been there for 3 seasons but they're not a Championship club? They're not living on borrowed time if they've managed to go up and compete for that long.

Status isn't determined by size, it's determined by results. We're a League One club. A big club with a lot of history, but a League One club nevertheless until we managed to drag our sorry backsides out of it.

Does 3 wins all season give a bit of context? It's not a great record.

Outside of the PL, long term status is determined by size, by income. They're punching above their weight, to an extent.

I don't know why you've brought us up. If we're a L1 club then perhaps we should just accept that and stop thinking we're underachieving.

Personally I don't think Powell was doing a bad job and I doubt they'll get anyone who'll do much better.

Feel free to revive this when Rosler gets them promoted to the PL.

Dean Hoyle is very wealthy and has chucked a lot of money at Huddersfield to get to the Championship.

A friend of mine tells me Hoyle has been caught with his trousers down and is heading for a very expensive divorce.

Maybe less money around to keep them up going forwards.
