Since beginning his tenure, Adkins has been performing markedly below the level of expectation brought about by his supposed experience and know-how. The confounding nature of his decision making has been evident for a while now. Making the poorest performing player the captain, what a bizarre decision that was.

Taking an age to 'assess' the squad, when what he should have done was communicate with staff already in situ with the ability to produce detailed reports on each player there and then. Substantial video footage of last seasons underachievement to hand to cement any second thoughts. To ignore the professional ability of colleagues like that achieved nothing other than what could have been proved within days. That mistake was then compounded by his inability to prioritise the positions that needed signings. 2 CB's, 1 CM and a GK in that order has been the priority list for quite an extensive period of time now. How he wasn't able to see that is baffling given it's simplicity.

Three of his four signings have been unquestionably poor acquisitions to the squad, only Sharp is worthy of a first team spot, which leaves the first team as an almost duplicate version of the one that fell short of promotion by twenty points last season. It's bordering on lunacy to put yourself in that position and follow it up with 'we have to get up this season'.

I've never quite gotten to grips with his reasoning behind chasing players that take unreasonable lengths of time to capture either. You shouldn't be doing that if you are to have any hope of covering the necessary positions. It's also disappointing to find he's been learning a few things from Clough in the way that excuses have started to seep into his post-match interviews. Taking responsibility for your own actions and noting what needs to be improved is how a manager should be conducting his interviews. More so on the back of a defeat. Blaming the referee is not in his or the teams best interests.

There seems to be lots of posts directing blame at the board for this seasons poor start, which I entirely agree with, but mentions of Adkins mistakes are few and far between given how important they were to get right.

Can't say he doesn't take responsibility for his own actions. Just ask him what the biggest room in his house is!

He had a point about the ref on saturday.

Someone with the capability to get these types of decisions right.

It really shouldn't be that much of an ask.

How do you reconcile Sammon being an "unquestionably poor acquisition" and Sharp being "worthy of a first team spot" when I'd start Sammon over Sharp in more or less all circumstances?

Sharp's 7 to Sammon's 3. I'm not sure.

Ah, the good old sort by goals, as if that's the only thing forwards are meant to do. I suppose you also think Heskey was England's worst ever striker?

Oh do put another record on dear. I believe the grooves on this one may be wearing a little thin.

Just on your first point mate, a captain has never needed to be the best player or even a decent player. He just needs to lead on the field. Also, if he's club captain he doesn't necessarily even need to play.

Still no name from the closet pig , if you are unhappy who do you think has the capability to get it right ? No one is guaranteed to succeed and as you have come up with no plausible alternative why not pipe down and give the current manager a chance ? Promotion has never been won by October as far as I can remember and considering we are as bad as you say , we must still be in with a shot , after all for such a shit side with a shit manager we still occupy a play off place ! Granted we all want more , and I bet NA does too but lets see what happens over the season , if you don't like what you see , don't go and PLEASE DON'T POST ANYMORE AS IT IS SO PREDICTABLE ! I for one will not bite again , but will be interested to see if you have the bottle to actually name a credible alternative that would be achievable for a club as bad as you say we are ! As ever UTB

Adkins was his first choice.

The wing is not a position of weakness and it's not a greatly exciting signing. That said i'm behind Adkins and the players he brings in.

I'll just leave this here.....

Some reasonable points well made.

That was without the knowledge of the transfers to come and by what margin the priorities would be missed.

That was also directed at past tense transfers. At that point he'd only brought in Woolford and had ample time to bring centre backs in.

He didn't.

This guy reminds me of Curtis from BladesMad who spent his life being a troll and a WUM.

Used to argue himself into ridiculous corners and contradict himself too.

Ever seen both of them in the same room together?

The more people reply the more he posts. If you don't reply and let him think he's won whatever argument he thinks he's having then maybe there will be a change in the tone of posts made.

I thought more Herbert with the bizarre and seemingly random hatred of a manager.
