Jim Phipps on Facebook

One of my ongoing concerns is that our board (and Jim Phipps in particular) pay too much heed to the noisy minority on twitter / facebook.

Guys, if you re-read it, he was making the point that the standard of the league is strong, not weak.

Poor choice of phrase, but he wasn't disrespecting the league.

"the diabolical nature of the competition in L1"

How is that anything other than disrespecting the league we are in?

Who are you to tell me to not support and voice my opinions on my own club?

Just offering you a way out of the malaise.

I hope you do continue to provide the board with your scintillating insight. Like I said before, you have a very amusing role.

Your own choice of words gives you away, angry with them yes, let down by them? Yes, disagree with the club? Yes,

Embarrassed to support the club?

Never.
The club embarrass themselves on many occasions. That was my point.

I think that's extraordinarily good.
I think that speech by Mr Phipps was a plea to put to one side all the issues that many fans are showing and stand together as blades and support the club.Have you ever heard a chairman of a business make such a plea to its customers he obviously here's all the anger
that fans feel about our currant situation. He almost opened the minutes to the meeting the board had with clough on that fateful day for clough when he was sacked, the atmosphere must have been toxic with what he has divulged he and the Board are accepting blame for allowing clough to waste money on unfit players and building a top heavy squad. That is some statement a very brave one and Mr Phipps deserves tremendous credit for laying the club's cards on the table .As a group how do we respond ? any true blade will see that to move fonward we have to stick together we all want the same thing (basically he is begging for time so that they can turn it round big bucks have been spent with more to come) as I said in a post earlier today it's going to be a very interesting January window

It wasn't though was it? because that's not what you said.
I said the club is an embarrassing one to support. Meaning it's an embarrassing club in itself and to the wider football world, and I just happen to support them. That doesn't mean that specifically I, myself am embarrassed because I support them. It was easily mis-construed.

One thing I do object to is any "re investment" being included in the figures of how much money has been invested.

They are our players, belonging to our club. Any monies recieved for them SHOULD come back into the club.

And shouldn't count as money that has been invested by Phipps and co.

I have zero confidence in this Board now.

That is not the behaviour I expect from someone co-chairing the club.

To slag other teams in public is unprofessional. To slag off a former manager publicly is unprofessional. To infer the manager needs the help of the fans is undermining and unprofessional. This is not the kind of behaviour I'd expect from anyone in his position in any industry, let alone such a public one.

To do all the above on Facebook makes us look a laughing stock.

He's made me very very angry.

I still remember a promise from the Prince, when he came in, to invest in the first team. All that was detailed by Jimbob was re-investment of monies made.

After all that he then has the cheek to suggest the fans could do more. It's disgraceful.

yeah, YEAH, I feel so motivated that a millionaire (co) running my club is so competent that he has to ask the fans how to do his job. On fucking Facebook.

So confident that this club is being run professionally and well managed,

Oh I've got a few suggestions as to what some supporters can do to aid the club. Specifically quite a few cunts who sit near me every match day.

The kind of scum who boo players onto the pitch and whose voices only get heard when they're spouting poisonous shit. The same scum who think they themselves are beyond criticism.

It's not your club it is our club

I think the board are well aware of how good Adkins is. I'd imagine there's a lot of mutual respect both for their experience (football and non-football) and their positive, inclusive approach

For me Adkins and Phipps make this a great place to be at the moment.
The Board will be even more aware of the cost of replacing Adkins and his management team. This alone will give Nigel the time that he needs and deserves.

I might have a comment on Bournemouth or Brentford.

I'd be in with a chance at complementing them on how a club should be run.

What are your thoughts on how Sheffield Wednesday are run?

did he ask the fans to tell him how to do his job?

Well, not that exactly no. What I meant was in terms of the fans helping the team, and for them to keep giving him feedback. This was in direct response to a question on criticisms.

I think they have a clueless, but brave owner in the amount that he's invested.

It's exactly the sort of investment that's needed here. A dislike for a rival team won't prevent me from offering my honest views.

Although I'm not as oblivious as to not understand what you're trying to suggest, which is incredibly boring now.

I think it's a shame that a difference in opinion can result in such an accusation.

It's your wordings of certain posts of late. I refuse to believe you walk around in your every day life using any single opportunity to call us embarrassing etc

It doesn't feel like you're slagging off your own team as you're not harsh enough.
